Nice enough.

This fountain is not working all the time, but when it is on, it certainly is impressive to see the volume and height of water shooting into the sky.

It's a giant water jet. Water gets shot into the air and then comes back down. It's free but you can't touch it.

We loved this, it was interesting, easy to get too, spectacular to sit beside and marvell at its majesty and power.

Shoots a jet of water over 100m above the lake, pretty spectacular when you're up close, and it can be seen from much of Canberra. Usually works for two hours from 2pm each day. One of the iconic sights in Canberra, it can be photographed from many different angles; depending on where you are on the lakefront you can get... More

Well, what could we say about this .. From 2pm to 4pm the water jet is on and yes can take nice pictures of it but that's it. If you are near the lake when the jet is on, take a look at it but it's not really worth arranging your day to see it.

This is a nice additional touch to the man made Lake Burley Griffen and can be admired from various points around the lake. Of course it is just a jet of water but is still worth observing when you visit the lake.

This is a spectcular landmark on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin that unfortunately only appears to operate between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. The water jet location makes for a great series of photos and is visible from a considerable distance. We were lucky enough to be able to photgraph the water jet from the roof of Parliament House.

it is funny we have an attraction which has been in place for many years. When we visited Canberra over ten years ago and it was working all day. Now with money cut backs it is only on from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Cost cutting they say? But when it is turned on it it impressive

Located in the central basin of Lake Burley Griffin (LBG), the water jet was built by the Commonwealth Government to commemorate the Bicentenary of Captain James Cook's first sighting of the east coast of Australia. Powered by two pumps, if both are in operation, the jet shoots approximately 6 tons of water into the air, reaching a max height of... More

Not the most amazing water jet going around, but good for a photo. Doesn't take up more than 10 mins of your day though. A nice addition to the lake though.
