Come to the Mint, where every single Australian coin in the pockets of millions of Australians is made!

While wandering through the Mint's observation gallery you can look into the coin production factory and marvel at Titan, one of our great family of robots who help out with all the heavy lifting.

Spend some time in the theatrette where a video will take you behind the scenes to explain the fascinating process of making coins.

Check out the rare and historically significant coins on show from the National Coin Collection, which is held in the vaults of the Mint.

Mint your own collectable coin and browse the Mint Coin Shop where you can find great gifts, mementos of your visit or even start your own collection!

We offer free public tours twice daily Monday- Friday and three times daily on the weekends.

For a limited time only, private Tours of the Stuart Devlin - The Designer with the Midas Touch exhibition will run Monday - Friday at 11am and 3pm until the end of April 2017.

We started our Canberra getaway here. Our tour guide was very informative and kept us all interested with the history of currency especially Australia's. Was pretty cool to see and learn how coins are made.

My 8 year old daughter and I went to Canberra on a quick visit and we had a day to fill in. The Mint was an amazing surprise. I was quite excited to be going here and found it to be so interesting learning about our money, something for children and adults alike. If you look closely when climbing stairs you will see what I saw.

A 20 minute guided tour. A look back in time and an introduction to Stuart Devlin the designer of Australian coins. You get to see where and how the coins are made. Well worth the stop.

My husband loves coins, so we definitely had to come here. It was interesting to see how coins were made and learn more about the man who first designed our coins. You can take a free guided tour, or wander through at your own pace. It was fun to see the people who make and check the coins, and at... More

My last visit to the mint was some years ago and there was a large coin display which took quite some time to see. However this time the coin display is confined to a few cabinets and viewing the machined where the coins are made. While my American friend was interested in the the gift shop the displays were disappointing

We viisted and joined a guided tour, while the displays are great, the guide provides a more detailed explaination and a far better experience of the monetary trading in Australia from its inception. This is highly recommended and a must do. Try and guess how many $1 coins are in the astra dome in the foyer. It was a pity... More
