We did not do the tour, just wandered by ourselves and set our own pace. Took about an hour to view the areas open to the public.

When I first heard about parliament house, everyone told me how boring it was. But, that is only if u do it on ur own. It was a really awesome idea to wait for the free guided tour. My guide was very engaging and shared stories well. Gave a better understanding of the meanings behind the portraits, colour and design... More

It is a impressive building and should be visited at least once. Try to get a chance to watch parliament sitting. Don't miss the gardens on the eastern side and the aboriginal art at the front.

Free tours are conducted regularly- which is great. But It is interesting to wander about, look at the displays, and learn about some of the upheavals and the achievements the nation has weathered in the past. But Old Parliament House has a lot more history - so make sure you visit both!

I was about 11 when i saw this and yes, it is interesting, but it can get a bit boring for a child. I personally did ok making it through the tour, but some of my classmates did not fare as well as i did. The parts that everyone enjoyed were basically role play games and when they gave us... More

A definite place to see when in Canberra. Underground parking the way to go. Security check before going in. We visited on a Sunday so no politicians there. A remarkable place with a lot of historical information. There are tours available. Allow about an hour minimum when visiting, there is so much to see.

We took a free tour for an hour which took us throughout the building including both the senate and house of representatives chambers. Our tour guide, Stephen, was excellent and we learned a great deal. The roof top is particularly interesting with amazing views over the city, and the cafe and gift shop are both well stocked.

We arrived early in the morning and parked under the building (Parliament House) Had done our research so knew it would take a while to see as much as we could, We paid for a behind the scene guided tour which showed us many interesting areas that are not accessible to the general public. Our timing was such that Parliament... More

Had a great time visiting the new parliament house. We went on a non-sitting day so we could park underground for free for the first 2 hours. Which is really all the time you need.
