Anzac parade is full of memorials to past wars, other countries and the Australian armed forces. Best way to view them all is to grab a bike and bike up one side and down the other. This one is not the best of them - the sculpture representing the Navy is a bit obtuse. Well worth see among all the... More

The Royal Australian Navy Memorial is a moving tribute to the people who have served Australia at sea. The number and range of wars and conflicts is remarkable. The memorial is a moving place.

We didn't really like this memorial. It's a personal choice but sometimes trying to do something different isn't always successful, we just prefer something more traditional.

It took reading the plaque to work out all of the shapes and their meanings in this memorial but that does mean you spend extra time taking it in. There is a danger that you focus on just the sculpture and not the overall meaning but the overall atmosphere of ANZAC Parade makes sure you're reflecting on why this memorial,... More

If you are visiting the Australian War Memorial, try and include a visit to some of the notable memorials situated in Anzac Avenue. Memorials such as this one, together with the Vietnam War Memorial, the RAAF Memorial, the Royal Australian Regiment etc all serve as fitting tributes to the legacy we owe to those who risked all to protect our... stunning bronze sculpture by artist Ante Dabro. Ante has other works at the Australian National University, Canberra Airport and in the City. The memorial is combines bronze and water in a very dramatic way

An elaborate bronze monument, combining both sight and sound, the Royal Australian Navy Memorial is a wonderful tribute to the Navy. Combining easily recognisable aspects of navy personnel and features, the memorial includes running water that is engineered to symbolise the noises of a boat at sea. A wonderful tribute! Anzac Parade, leading up to the Australian War Memorial, is... More
