Sad and Worthy Memorial

A very sad and fitting memorial to the sacrifice made by the police in protecting us. Near the Lake walk and a must do visit.

I visited the National Police Memorial in October 2016. A peaceful place to remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. I would recommend visiting if you're in the job or someone close to you is. So much respect is shown for our members nationally.

This memorial isn't really one that you'd intentionally visit, but if you stumble upon it, take the time to walk along the circle reading the names of fallen heroes. At night, it's a little magical being lit up so well. A giant metal lion perches at the end of the memorial.

Whilst passing through Canberra I stopped at this memorial to offer my respects from Police in the UK. The family words written into the ground infront of the memorial are very emotional. I only wish some maintenance was applied to this important memorial, the plaques with the officers names appear to be weathering making them difficult to read. This memorial... More

This is a fitting tribute to those who have given their lives to uphold our laws. It's a lovely setting on a rise above the lake and there's a nice screen of mature trees between the memorial and Parkes Way. The design is visually appealing and you can spend some time reviewing the names, dates and places. The only problem... More

Really nice to sit and be respectful of the people who see the best and worst of all of us. Best photo can be taken at sunset. A lovely walk along the lakeside, hearing the Carillion resound is delightful to end the visit and if you have little ones the best playground park is close by.

This memorial is situated just off Lake Burley Griffin. I would only visit if you have an interest in the Police Force. Best way to view is grab a bike and bike around Lake Burley Griffin take a slight detour before the Carillon to view.

A moving and fitting memorial to all the Australian Police Officers that have given their lives to protect the people of Australia. representing fallen officers from every state and territory in Australia. An impressive memorial which looks even more stunning at dark. A nice place to remember the Police Officers who gave their lives. Family words are etched onto the ground in front which is quite emotional.

This memorial is perfectly placed in Kings Park. A hallow place to reflect on Australian Police Officers who gave their life to protect our Aussie citizens. Well worth a look.
