Great visit! Fascinating history. Well worth taking one of the free tours to get more background on the place and some interesting stories. Small admission charge ($2/adult, $1/child) which is unusual for the Canberra museums. Great restaurant in the courtyard (Hoi Polloi), lovely food, great...More

Visit here to know about the history of Australia. Get a lot of insights to the Australian senate and parliament. Eye-opening experience which is definitely worth the visit. Admission fee is close to nothing and do plan about 3 hours to explore this massive building.

I have special affinity to the Old Parliament House, as I have worked there for 3 years in the House of Represntative. Each time when I am in Canberra, I always visit the Old Parliament House which for me is a building of national significance.

Definitely a place to visit, especially for those who have an interest with 20th century Australian politics. The staffers are very helpful, with the tour guide being very informative and entertaining. For those who are serious with their visit, plan to stay at the museum...More

We joined one of the free tours and learnt a lot whilst being shown around the lovely building. I especially liked the Prime Ministers room

A really comprehensive outline of government and Australian democratic institutions. The exhibits and displays in and around the old building were excellent for an understanding of the history of our democracy.

This would be great just to look at the buildings, but the exhibitions were an unexpected bonus, including replicas of the Crown Jewels.

As an American I do not know much about the Aussie political structure. This Museum provides an overview of the development of the Aussie political structure and history pf Canberra. In addition, admission fees are very economical. A great way to spend a half of...More

We went primarily to see Behind the Lines, the political cartoons of 2017 exhibition. After laughing our way through the halls it was upstairs to see the Museum of Australian Democracy and the way that the history of Australia was presented was really very, very...More
