When we asked a waiter at a hotel what is an easy way to Agua Azul. He suggested us to skip this "overcrowded place" and to visit Cascado de Roberto Barrios instead. "It's a special place" - he told "which local people use for themselves." The main problem is how to drive there. Nor google neither Apple with Waze answered... More

It costs 20 pesos for admission, but there is an expectation that tourists will hire local boys to to guide them around the falls. Do it! Our group got 3 guys, age 18-25 with one speaking excellent English. They took us on a hike for photo ops and to see the area. Afterward, some of us followed them into the... More

everyone already wrote lot how wonderful cascades, so I don't need to write more. so I write about how to go, to be exact where can find transport public to cascade from Palenque by yourself in my experience. colectivo (pickup type, not small van) is waiting at almost corner between calle Quinta Pre. Nte. and Quita Avenida Nte. Pre. Walking... More

Not easy to get to, lots of climbing involved, cold water but so lovely! Good fund raiser for locals, support local guides & crafts.

After visiting the pyramids of Palenque it is exciting to discover a natural place rarely visited by tourists but with a surprising beauty, perhaps even more than the waterfalls of Agua Azul that also keep a formidable charm.

This is the best waterfall I ever visited. I visited Ocho Rios in Jamaica and Aguas Azures in Chiapas. They are similar, but Casdaca de Roberto Barrios is by far the best. It only cost my family (of 5 people) 100 pesos. Then you get to enjoy the whole waterfall (cascada) for as long as you want. This place is... More

Is like Aguas Azules, just less crowded. Walking in the jungle is amazing, water is perfect for swiming or just walking in it. Gorgeus!

We had heard there was a guide who was non verbal and when he approached we didn't have the heart to refuse his services. He was actually able to communicate a lot and we had a great time with his assistance. It would be fine to experience this without a guide but you might miss the secret caves and bottle... More

The beautiful area consists of 5 major aqua blue falls which are connected by trails. Great swimming holes on a hot day. The only complaint was the kids following us around wanting to be guides. We had cameras, phones and wallet with us and never felt like it was safe to set anything down so my wife and I had... More
