We joined a one day 4WD Tour provided by Kimberley Wild Expeditions to Cape Leveque from Broome. Our morning tea stop was at the Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community next to the Beagle Bay church. We then continued onto the remote One Arm Point Community, where we had a great views of the Buccaneer Archipelago. There was also time to visit... More

We had three days and two nights in the Cape Leveque area of the Dampier Peninsula recently and it certainly is one of the highlights of our trip so far. Seemingly untouched rugged beauty everywhere you look, yes there are other tourists but few and far between or in other areas so your paths don’t cross as often. Perhaps it... More

This tour was with Adams Pinnacle, they are excellent & had a very knowledgeable tour guide. We started @ 0700 & were back by 1900 hrs. The Beagle Bay community was the first stop to see the Sacred Heart church & have morning tea. Then on to the One Arm Point aboriginal community. Interesting to see the old missionary church with... Travelling to Cape Leveque requires a 4WD vehicle to negotiate the 100kms of sandy and corrugated section of the 200km drive. Some of the 'big' car hire companies will not allow travel on unsealed road, but we hired a 4WD from a local company Broome Broome, so that we could do this trip. And it was certainly worthwhile. Rugged coastline... More

Kooljaman, stunningly beautiful! These wonderful terrestrial like red sand dunes meet sparking white sands and are surrounded with Bright Clear turquoise Blue ocean. Could have spent the entire day on this beach exploring every angle of its beauty.

Stayed at Gnylmarung camping ground which is on the road to Middle Lagoon. This place is paradise! Run by Alphonse and Delmar in a very low key fashion. Only twenty unpowered sites so never really busy. Facilities basic, gold coin donation for the washing machine. Basic showers and some flushing toilets, some drop loos. Rustic beach shower is a great... More

Flew in via horizontal falls. Great spot for nature lovers. Nothing is 5 star but is an amazing place to visit. Road to Broome is corrugated red dirt and you need a 4wd - wouldn't recommend it for normal cars or large caravans

Hi, yes - definitely 4wd. The road says no caravans at the beginning and people need to be aware or that for their insurance liabilities. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Erica More

The trip into this area is an adventure by itself Jacinta and her family make you most welcome. We only had two nights but you should allow yourself 3 or 4 if possible. It is a bush camp drop dunny and a great shower set in the trees on top of the cliffs only 9 camp sites so you need... More

My husband and I had the most incredible and relaxing three days in Cape Leveque in June. We stayed at Kooljaman Wilderness Camp. During the days we spent our time exploring the local area, but as dusk approached it was time for wine and cheese on the beach, taking in the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever seen! A Tagalong 4WD... More
