I do agree that place needs tons of money for renovation, but i did like the whole feeling of being there. The yard, big and Small halls had nice views, music and art school gave different feeling and Sklandrausi were best i tried there as part of food blog tasting. I liked.

A castle with 8 rooms for guests. Ours had a four poster bed, was very tastefully decorated, with views across the lakes and park. Staff were very kind and helpful. Kitchen to cook your own food, although there is a bistro and cafe in the town. Accommodation was simply wonderful. You need a car to get there though.

Medieval castle with its legend on the Green Maiden. An interesting guided narration and inspection of approximately one hour in length. In the castle is also available a cheap accommodation

Previous reviewer summed up the history of the castle, so there is no need to repeat. If you visit Kurzeme and are passing Dundaga, it is very much worth visiting. The castle itself is worth a stroll around and looking in for details in architecture and remaining décor. Especially impressive is the inner court with castle well and some remaining... More
