On a raining day in Porto, my host booked a full-day Douro-valley tour for me. The weather cleared up after the first hour on the boat. We took the Milenio do Douro (the name of the boat) up the valley in the morning, stopped in Regua and back by train in the late afternoon. We sampled different wines and ports... More

4 of us took a private tour of the Douro Valley organized by the concierge at the Sheraton. The company we used was Transportes Nandre LDA. A full day experience with a tasting at 11am at Quinta do Bomfin (part of the Symington group) followed by lunch at Pacheca and a great set of port tasting at Quinta Vallado. A... More

An amazing place. We stayed at Quinta da Viega. Highly recommended. Great family atmosphere. Warm hospitality. Great wine. The view from the estate and the room is breathtaking.

We spent 2 fun filled days traveling through the scenic Douro Valley, with its lushly sculpted shelves and narrow twisting roads. We stopped at a few quintas (wineries) along the way to tour the vineyards and sample the wines. From Pinhão, we opted for a 2-hour scenic boat cruise on the Douro in a traditional Rabello boat. You learn history... More

Our best day in northern Portugal! We went on this beautiful tour to the Douro Valley with an amazing guide. Our guide Pepe (Pedro) was enthusiastic and very motivated. On the driveway to the Douro Valley we were told all about the history of Portugal and what it was like to be living in Portugal. We were listening to fado... More

A splendid day touring the Douro Valley. Spectacular scenery from the mountains to the river. Quaint villages with pretty housing. A visit to the vineyards is a must.

A friend of mine recommended this tour, and i was not disapointed. Our guide, Jose, was really nice, and he knew alot of history and facts about the port wine district. I would recommend him as a guide if you want to do this tour. We got picked up from our hotel and after a 1,5 hour drive, with stories... More

We spent 3 days in the Douro Valley & could have spent more. The Quintas (vineyards), scenery, The river ... The wine & the food were all fabulous. We drove around all the roads even the narrow ones through the vineyards. Met some great people & many laughs. We stayed in casa da Rui in Tabuaco ... The most amazing... More

We, a family of 4, took this tour on 26th May. Our guide, Alex, was knowledgeable with good command of English, but arrived very late to pick us up. The time given to us was 8-8.30 am, but he arrived past 9 am; and that too after several calls by our hotel frontdesk. On arrival, he made lame, unconvincing excuses... More

We booked a small group tour through Viator (operated by CoolTour Oporto) for the Douro valley. Our guide (Peter) arrived at our accommodations in Porto right on time an we were soon underway. Overall our tour included 4 couples, all English speaking. Peter was accommodating, very knowledgeable, and fluent in English. Basically, the tour consists of a 90 minute ride... More
