Very nice old fort to tour and visit. The views from the fort towers are amazing. It is a moderately intensive walk/hike with large steps; it can be brutal on a very hot day.

If you happen to stay in Banda Neira, I would recommend to visit this Fort. Overlooking the island, its shape in pentagonal form makes it really unique. The history of this island is enthralling and this fort is worth visiting. In the entrance there was...More

I thought I had become jaded when it comes to seeing crumbling colonial forts in lush, tropical environs, but I loved this place. Few people, free entry (donation appreciated), incredible views, and with a real end of the Earth feel that I dug.

The history of the occupation of the Banda islands is horrible, but this fort from 1611 is a beautiful relic. The views are spectacular, especially for sunset. 20k entrance fee. Climb up the turrets for really great views.

Belgicas views are worth a visit. The fort itself is nothing super special but the views are real good.

Impressive star-shaped fort with cannon and barrack rooms inside. Walls and turrets accessible. Photos of the rebuilding process on display. No one pretends it lasted intact for 350 years; this is what it might have looked like. No furnishings or explanations in any language other...More
