TAHBILK CELLAR DOOR & WINE TASTING: The Cellar Door tasting is a MUST if visiting the winery. Held in the original winery you will be well looked after by our lovely staff as you try a range of different Tahbilk wines on offer. An amazing experience which takes you back in time, unchanged since 1860. UNDERGROUND CELLARS: In Cellar Door, follow the stairs down into the original underground cellars built in 1862. Take a moment to breath in the sights and smells of the red wine cellar before moving to what we call the new cellar which was built by James Escott Purbrick (third cousin to Reginald Purbrick) in 1875 in only 6 weeks. ECO TRAILS: The complex web of billabongs became 8kms of backwaters and creeks. These deep wetlands are the site now of the Tahbilk Eco Trails. Start your walk by heading across the historic Long Bridge. The Long Bridge was built from timber hewn on the Estate to replace a ford on the site soon after the Goulburn Weir was completed in 1889. Following the floods of 1954, the bridge was extensively repaired, reducing from double to single lane. In 1996 it was completely rebuilt, again with timber cut and milled on the property. Visitors can stroll along a range of walking paths and boardwalks along a 4km circuit. ECO CRUISE: Gently glide along the Tahbilk billabongs and enjoy a 30 minute cruise in the undercover comfort of our eco friendly electric powered boats. Group Bookings only - subject to availability - More than 15 people is $10 per person - accompanied children under 18 are free Less than 15 people is $150 (fixed charge)

Another enjoyable day spent at Tahbilk Winery. I think I am turning into a wine snob, as Tahbilk deliveries everything you require from the cellar door experience. Knowledgeable staff (thanks Judy, Marie and Rachel), that are also friendly, welcoming to all, and professional. A superb range of wines to expand your palate, at varying price points. From the midweek quaffer... More

Superb place to visit and learn a little about the winery history. Very Well kept heritage location. We were able to see the wine cellar amd experienced wine tasting. Vineyards are just around the corner to experience that too. Probably the best winery to visit if you are in Victoria. Tahbilk cafe is a must visit place after a walk... More

Thank you for the review Hasitha. Tahbilk is a true estate winery, everything happens on the estate: the grape growing, wine making, bottling etc. More

We visited the cellar door at Tabilk after having lunch at the Cafe. The original cellars are open to look around and there's a display of information regarding the wineries past also. There was no charge for the tasting and the staff were happy to open anything for you to sample (excluding a couple of $300 ish bottles.) The wines... More

Situated just out of Nagambie, is Tahbilk winery.. Steeped in history it is lovely place to ramble.. Check out the pleasing reds and whites, but be warned have a designated driver. Right on the river and with a large cafe with decking, you can't go wrong.. Check to see if they have special events on ie: Head of The Goulburn,... More

Family owned; long history with readable literature available; wide variety of wines; spectacular setting; access to the old barrel cellars; pleasant informative staff; specials and bargains onsite; good value pricing and above all else; simply great wines. Rarely do you get much of the above in one place, - here you get all that and more. Don't hesitate, this is... More

Situated in a very picturesque place next to a scenic river, this cellar door is full of history and well worth a visit even if you do not drink wine. As an added bonus, the adjacent restaurant (check if it is open), is perfectly sited with an outdoor deck to easily spend a couple of hours enjoying good food and... More

Thank you for the review Bruce. You are right in the historical aspects. The area around the original winery building (we call it the Cellar Yard) is kept as it would have been in the 1880's. The cafe mentioned is open Thursdays - Mondays and on weekends and public holidays bookings are highly recommended. More

Great place to visit. You know the wine is great and the tour is a must but remember to check first to see if the restaurant is open. Rookie error by us.

What a huge disappointment. What used to be a reasonably priced lunch destination has turned into a very expensive ($11.50 for bowl of "chips") lunch out. Apart from not getting the lunch we thought we had ordered we paid $31.50 for some shredded beef in a mushroom sauce with silverbeet all plonked on top of a crumpet???? The dessert I... More

The dish you mentioned was : slow braised and pulled beef cheek , wild mushroom & parmesan veloute, dr martys crumpet and kale. It has... More
