This was by far the best day we spent exploring the old Portuguese / Dutch forts in Sri Lanka.
The fort was built by the Portuguese in 1560, converted by the Dutch in 1696, and handed over to the British in 1795.

Another Dutch fort that has been neglected. However the internal structures are still intact minus the roofs. Gives you a good idea as to how the forts internal structure and set up was. There are few graves with inscriptions as well.
