Stunning island nature reserve for sea guls
Aug 2019
The island itself has beautiful walks and you can camp there is you wish. We visited twice to complete the walks as too much for one day. Each time we ate wonderful sea food at the restaurant as you arrive on the ferry.
One downside - toilets were very dirty and I suggest you take toilet roll with you as its runs out quickly. However, we new what to expect the second time and went prepared, great simple food and stunning views.

Keep your expectations low
Aug 2018 • Family
We had been told by multiple friends that we had to visit these beaches. That they were virgin beaches and the nature was incredible. Challenge is that there are soooo many tourists. Also the nature is beautiful but not so different from other beaches in the Cangas area where we were staying. I expected to see other wildlife and animals that you can´t see anywhere else and I didn´t. With two young kids it was a hard day of travel, carrying our food, water, clothing, etc. I cam home exhausted. So just go prepared. Yes the beach is beautiful but it will be work and there might be an easier and very pretty beach where you are staying. There is plenty of food options on the beach if you do not wish to pack food.

Truly one of the best!

When I read that Guardian once voted it best beach in the world I was a bit skeptical about it - after all, us Greeks know a thing or two about beaches! It is true! (well, one of the best) Crystal clear turquoise waters, white sand, unspoilt nature - and this is the most important part. If you won't dare to swim -it is freezing, after all - you can walk one of the many beautiful trails or sunbathe, but be careful because the sun here burns in an instant! ( and I talk from experience). Remember you have to ask for permission and book boat tickets ahead.

Certainly one of the very best beaches this planet has to offer. Excellent sand, super clean water, plenty of shade...what else can you wish for?

The best hiking routs of the world. Virginal, romantic, amazing landscapes, great food, 30 minutes by boat to a big city however completely peaceful and raw nature there.

Best place for a day trip!
Oct 2017 • Family
I was on holiday with a group of 10 people including young children, we decided to take a day trip to the Cies Islands and it was easily the best day of the trip. The boat journey from Vigo Spain was easy to book and inexpensive, there are excellent views of the surrounding landscape during the journey. The beach is so large that you can easily get a bit patch of space to yourself and the sea is crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Highly recommended!!

Great beach but not for swimming
Aug 2017
Great beach to sunbath, to watch the landscape, to lie down, to read, to relax, but not to swim. Water is so cold that only the brave enter it!

Beautiful beach
Jul 2017 • Friends
Beautiful beach with white sand, situated just next to the ferry station, we decided to stay here most part of our day, but later discovered much better spots on the island. It is definitely one of the must-see places on the island and in the world, in general, but I just have to agree to disagree about being one of the best beaches in the world.
We went on a Tuesday at the end of July, around 10-11 am and it got very crowded.
It is perfect to escape from the city and just relax with your friends, family and it’s perfect for children also. The water is ice cold, though.
We wanted to see as much as we could so we took a walk to the lighthouse and Monte Faro and it was incredible.
About the ferry - we bought our tickets a couple of days in advance and we paid around 20 E per person (ida y vuelta). And decided to return an hour before our 8:00 pm ferry so we asked if it would be possible and they were actually very nice, we had to wait to see if there were any empty seats but there was no problem so just in case you need to return after just ask (just my opinion, as a tip not a recommendation). The restaurant it’s good (but pricey) if you want to grab a bite or just have a cold drink. We bought the drinks and actually had a picnic on the beach (be careful with the seagulls they are everywhere).
It was an amazing experience.
Don’t miss this hidden, natural gem!
