The ride to the top isn't expensive and the view is really beautiful especially with a hot coffee and heart shaped pancakes with strawberry jam :)

I am from Voss a ski eldorado in Norway, therefore my expectations were pretty high when my friends from the area told me how great strandfjellet was. Sadly we didn't have the weater 100% on our side that day, that's not the skicenters fault. But for starters, we came a bit late in the day, and are used to the... More

This is simply the best skiresort for powder skiing in Scandinavia. They title themselves "Powder Paradise" which is actually true!!! After a drop of snow you can ski both sides of the valley. There is a loft of different options, and you may even find unbroken powder a week after the last snowfall. Ask the locals, and they will be... More

I loved the area, the only issue is that it was very windy the day we arrived so only half of the lifts were operating.

The resort caters for the Norwegian market, and is not really focused on tourists (none of the package operators target this resort) - although we did meet two groups of Brits whilst there. Facilities are good - a ski school of a good standard, excellent lifts (including a very posh new gondola), the usual equipment hire, restaurants at the top... More

Strandafjellet Skisenter opened this season on December 27th and offered a variety of lengthy trails and fantastic panoramas in the mountains. With our eager teenagers, we hiked to the summit with cameras to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Night and day skiing. Nighty snows bring ample powder for ideal downhill and X-country skiing. A short drive and ferry hop. Snow... More
