About
Frogner had in early Middle Ages their parish church. It is first mentioned in a report of 1327, but is probably older than the year 1200 The church burned in 1651. Only in 1694 was the new church finished. It stands on the old church space, and is supposedly built on the ruins of the old church. Frogner kirke was expanded into a cruciform church. Nice Visit to Ancestral Church
Sep 2018 • Couples
My wife’s great grandparents were married at Frogner Kirke in 1872, and we decided to visit it whilst on holiday in Oslo.

Beautiful small church and grounds dating from the 1200’s, rebuilt in 1600’s. Nice view of the valley, and medium sized cemetery.

We were able to find tombstones of several relatives, and also a relative of one of our good friends: we did not realize his family emigrated from this part of Norway.

Well worth the visit for us!
