Fun but not for the horses

We did the one hour ride. The instructors first ask every individual their riding experience and then pair them up to horses accordingly. The trail was mostly in the woods and... read more

We organised the 1 hour tour with some trepidation, having read some really mixed reviews here. We, with our three kids (8, 11 and 13) loved every minute. The lady at check in was friendly and helpful and happy to answer any questions. It may have helped that we were there 45 mins before the start and this was about... More

I cannot believe that we actually go riding on the beach! I can't wait until I go there. From what I heard, this place is the best!

We did the one hour ride. The instructors first ask every individual their riding experience and then pair them up to horses accordingly. The trail was mostly in the woods and then a quick stop at the beach for pictures. Wish we had more time at the beach. You can bring your phone as long as you put it on... More

I am not an experienced rider so this was great for me ! Very well organized with good guides. They gave each rider an introduction to their horse and their habits before starting out. I felt very comfortable with my horse Snickers:). I did the two hour afternoon ride which took you to the beach after going through forest and... More

Before I ream this outfit, I am a horse trainer and riding instructor and have been for over 40 years. My family owned and operated a riding stables in Carmel, and I'm an author of a soon to be released Horse Safety Manual. I am a professional, it's not my first BBQ. I did not tell them any of this,... More

We choose the 2 hour trail ride that takes you through part of the redwoods and the hills right to a short walk on the beach. The guides are familiar with the plant life and the history of the area. If you have not ridden a horse in a while I would suggest a shorter ride. Our legs and back... More

I just recently visited this place and was immediately told my children had to sign contracts. Once we got assigned to our horses we were told very strict directions on how to treat them properly. I got the horse Melody and she was SO slow. She was a few yards behind everyone else almost all the time and was told... More

I believe the only riding available in Big Sur, it was a pleasant 2 hour ride through redwoods and ending up on the beach. Probably better to book a private ride just to get more lively horses! Mine "knew exactly what to do" and nothing was going to get her to do anything different! However, that is good for many!

My wife and I recently went on their 2.5 hour tour from 3:30pm to 6pm. You'll pull in to Andrew Molera State Park, go down the hill, and then take an left under their sign before the park attendants booth. When you reach the corral, there is plenty of parking and portable restrooms. The staff were much friendlier in person... More
