Built in the Italian style during the reign of Louis XV, the Chateau contains furniture of exceptional quality, a large collection of objets d’art, gardens with trimmed box trees, a park of 80 hectares, former stables, a harness room and a museum of horse-drawn carriages. Site with the "Outstanding Garden" label. Open: > In April, May, June, September and October (everyday except on Tuesdays) from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. > In July and in August (everyday) from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. > In March and in November on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Last admission 30 minutes before closing time. Closed: > From December to February, except for groups. > 1st May. Viewing is by guided tour only which is in French but we were given a very helpful brochure in English.Be aware that it is closed for lunch so check opening times.Lovely stables and the chateau is well maintained with lots of rather touching items for example a spinning wheel used by the former lady of the house. This was a really interesting chateau! The biggest surprise was the stunning walled gardens - it must have covered at least an acre and the plants were really stunning! If you are a keen gardener like me, the size of the dahlias and fuschias had to be seen! The house is Italianate in style and very different in style and... More

A small family home style house; guided tour is of interest since quite a bit of the furniture is 19th century English! But the main reason for visiting is to see the gardens. The potager has been converted entirely to annuals, so go in July when they're at their best. Also one of the best set of stables I've seen... More

A smaller Chateau but very interesting and not crowded...we had the tour guide to ourselves when we visited.

In the middle of no-where, heart of the Berry countryside, this is not somewhere on the tourist map but for those in the know, a must. The gardens are superb, the stables and out-buildings hold fascinating collections of carrages, and the chateau tour is excellent.
