This is close to my cousin's house so I have always taken it for granted and not visited properly. This summer 2016 we went in for a proper look around and were completely blown away. The wonderful sculpture, the way it is presented, the various collections in various buildings, the gardens, the fountains, the terraces with their beautiful elevated views....... More

As Millesgarden is primarily an outdoor sculpture museum, it is best enjoyed on a clear day. You can stroll around in the garden and admire the sculptures inspired by Greek mythology, but also take in the view of large parts of Stockholm from the elevated terrace towards the water. To be fair, there are interesting indoor attractions as well. We... More

Wonderful sculpture park and artist home of swedish sculptor Carl Milles. Just take subway (Tunnelbana) from T-Centralen to Ropsten station. From Ropsten there are numerous buses to Torsviks Torg and from there 300 metres walk to Millesgården. It only takes about 25 minutes from Stockholm to reach this beautiful Place. The house and the art gallery is very idyllic and... More

If you are the least into culture and especially sculptures this is the place to visit when you are in Stockholm. An absolute abundance of historical collections and not to forget the life work of Carl Milles. Do not miss it and yes it comes with a view of all of Stockholm more or less.

Admittedly, the fantastic statues on their pillars are MUCH nicer against a clear blue sky - and the rest of the outdoor ponds with fountains, stone animals, the gardens etc are at their best in good weather. But the rest of the museum - the couple's house and studios etc - and the temporary exhibition in the entrance building (on... More

This amazing sculpture garden on the outskirts of Stockholm is pretty amazing. Don't worry too much about the trip here as it really just amounts to a ride on the metro followed by a transfer to the bus and a short walk. You will be rewarded with infinite photographic opportunities. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful time here. It's an easy metro ride from central and a one stop bus ride and short couple of hundred metre walk. The garden, statues and interiors are simply wonderful. There's also an excellent bistro/cafe. Highly recommended. Allow 3 hours at least with transport.

We loved the lower part of the Millesgarden that we were able to visit. We were not prepared for the immense number of stairs to climb to visit Carl Milles' home and the rest of the garden. We considered our visit a success, despited the limitations to our visit. An inspiring sculptor and a beautiful collection, all overlooking a scenic... More

Beautifully overlooking the sea, we loved our couple hours visit here. It really is a remarkable and special place. It was wonderful strolling around the sculpture park and the terraces. Silhouetted against the azure sky the sculptures looked phenomenal. One view we had of a group of flowing figures high on their plinths was breathtaking. The sounds of the ubiquitous... More
