About
Taste a good wine, relax, learn something interesting and have fun in a pleasant environment. We organize tastings, corporate events and sightseeing excursions to our vineyards. In good weather we offer sitting under the pergola in the grassy closed courtyard. Enjoy picturesque surroundings, which breathe the history of winemaking and viticulture. Our cellar from the 17th century has an authentic atmosphere of a family winery - original stone arches as well as historical tools and wine barrels, of which many are still in use. In our rustic vaulted wine room, decorated with Modra's traditional ceramics and original tiled stove, we offer traditional local dishes along with wines from our own vineyards. On a visit to Slovakia, Their Highness the Prince and the Princess of Japan did not miss a chance to see our authentic cellar. Don’t miss it either. :)

Fascinating wine experience, easily accessible from Bratislava
Wonderful experience, very easily accessible from Bratislava. We took the train and a short bus ride to Modra to meet Martin (by taxi is also not very expensive) in Vino Fiala building - it is a beautiful, small yard and the wine cellar. The vineyards are in another place, but there is such an interesting explanation for this relating to the history of communism and impact on local winemaking. Martin really took the time to explain everything to us, and spent several hours showing us round, answering all of our questions and sharing many different types of delicious wine. We only booked on the same day (as it was a spontaneous trip) and he was still so generous with his time and made us feel so welcome in his business. We would really recommend a visit to Vino Fiala.
Thank you for the visit. It was inspiring to meet you too. We are happy you liked it with us.

    Excellent wine and wonderful visit!
On a trip to Europe, we decided to spend a night in Bratislava because my husband’s family immigrated to the US from the smaller villages outside of Bratislava around 1900. We don’t know much about his family, but records that we have show they were wine growers. We found out about the wine tour and thought we would try it to check out the area and learn some of the history of wine making in the region. When we arrived, Martin had set a wonderful table with treats prepared by his mother, and we tasted several wonderful wines at the table and also from the barrels in the wine cellar. We learned a lot about the area and the history of wine making. We also found out that Martin went to school with someone who had the same family name as ours. We are from northern Michigan, which is home to a growing wine industry. This tour reminded us a lot of the smaller wineries on the Leelanau Peninsula but with a much more personal touch and the depth of centuries of wine making.

Great to discover Slovak wines from the Modra region
Very nice family wine cellar. The owner takes time to discuss and explain to you the history and the different wines they produce. We were first received in the courtyard where we tried different Slovak cheeses, pagač and wines before proceeding to the wine cellar itself. I would absolutely recommend it

Our tour was conducted by the owner Michael and he was phenomenal! From the intro to the food, to the wine, to the cellar, everything was amazing! In addition, we showed up on the wrong day due to a scheduling error on our part and Michael was able to accommodate us anyway. He is extremely knowledgeable and they take great pride in making some fabulous wines including whites, rose and reds. We ended up buying some bottles to go! Highly recommend!

We took just an hour long bus from Bratislava to meet Martin at the winery / cellar. We had a really lovely experience, from tasting wines to learning about them as well as local culture. A very highly recommended addition to anyone seeking something interesting and fun near Bratislava and Modra. We ended up taking 2 bottles home too. Thank Martin!

I was just in Bratislava on my own for a weekend between a business trip. I really wanted to go wine tasting in Modra. I found Vino Fiala on TripAdvisor, and much to my surprise, when my hotel called, they agreed to a wine tasting at the very last minute for a very cheap price. I took an Uber (~25 euro) from Old Town in Bratislava to the winery, and proceeded to have the BEST evening with Martin Fiala, son of the original winery owner himself. Not only did I hear the history of the quaint winery & sample home made snacks and very generous portions of wine, Martin took me on a walk around the tour & gave me a tour. We had such great conversation about our cultures, my travels, his winery visitors etc., and I loved how kind, open & genuine he was. I couldn’t believe he was taking all this time out of his schedule for a solo traveler like myself. This was the first time I sampled wines right out of the barrels since they were ready. What a fantastic evening! Don’t miss this winery on your trip to Slovakia.

We had visited house of Pana Fiala to know more about local wines and experience slovak cuisine which was freshly cooked from kitchen on that night. We really enjoyed whole experience especially an amazing food and leave with some bottle's of wine, which we couldn't resist.
