Picturesque walk from Flam up to the waterfall. Climb is challenging enough, a couple of sections were wet & muddy even in August but the view of the waterfall and the fjord from the top is well worth it. You can reward yourself with an...More

Great if it is your first waterfall in Norway, a very definition of average after some time. But the waterfall itself aside, a very good Flåm viewpoint. Assuming you will be trying to reach here from the port, you can divide the trip into three...More

It's gorgeous, and the panorama of Flåm is lovely. However, from the main town, you gotta walk through many farms before reaching the little wooden sign "Brekkefossen". Then the steep climb up for what must be 15-20 mins. We didn't mind it too much, as...More

This is a pretty good hike for beginners, taking around 1 1/2 hours to complete. Loads of amazing views on the way up until you come to the waterfall which is just breathe taking.

Excellent way to spend your day when on a cruise. No need for booking a tour. Just put on your boots and take off. Hike straight from the ship and burn some calories, this will take you about 3 hours. Beautiful waterfall, last part of...More

You can see this waterfall from Flåm or from the train. It is possible to walk here from Flåm or take the car to get near the waterfall. Note that the road is narrow and partly steep, many places it is no room to meet...More

My son and I were looking for a hiking trail in the vicinity of Flam. It is a nice walk. The last portion is rather steep but no problem. Total elevation gain is probably 200 meters. The more difficult part is shaded, which was nice...More

The waterfall can be seen from the cruise dock. The trail follows the road and then turns sharply up the mountain. The portions of the steep trail to the waterfall was wet and muddy and caution is needed. The knoll about 2/3 way up is...More

Brekkefossen is easy to get toto... The head of the trail is less than 30 minutes from the train and the walk is very scenic. You walk along a river, past cows, and see grass roof tops. However the hoke to the top is a bit... More

Hi! I also started at around 7.45 and it was May. Not so clear for me, before 9 or so, but in July I think you might be lucky!

In Norway it should be quite light at that time. We found the best views were when the skies clear and the sun was out so I'd check the forecast. As you can see from my review the way was blocked off when we went there at... More
