From such a short distance off the highway, a traveler and wine connoisseur can truly experience the unique world of wine glass production at the Riedel factory. The glass factory allows an inside look at the glass making process and how the glassware is diligently mouth blown and hand made.

To experience the different senses, Riedel offers “Sinnfonie”, an adventure of sensual perception. Visitors also have the opportunity to buy the world’s famous grape varietal specific stemware and prestigious decanters directly from Riedel at the onsite 300 qm shop.

Every customer will get their own individual consultation

where our experts will highlight the Riedel glass philosophy and answer the important question of, ”Which is the right glass for

my wine?”

Seeing, hearing, smelling, feeling, tasting.

Come and see how our glassmakers create a SINNFONIE from the versatile material of glass.

There has been no change in the composition of glass for over 4000 years. It still contains the naturally occurring basic materials of quartz, lime and alkalis which are heated up to a temperature of 1000 degree celsius to make them liquid and malleable. “Only” 2000 years have passed since the glass blowpipe was used in ancient Rome for the first time. This made it possible to blow glass into different shapes.

At our factory in Kufstein our glassblowers still use this ancient mouth-blowing method with great care and precision to create the world-famous handcrafted Riedel glasses. Claus J. Riedel was the first person in the long history of the glass to design its shape according to the character of the wine. He is thus the inventor of the functional wineglass.

A positive approach to life is linked to pleasure and enjoyment. Enjoyment is conveyed by our senses, and this is the theme of our multimedia show entitled SINNFONIE.Why not share our enjoyment in our SINNFONIE? Let‘s set off together on a journey through the world of glass and the senses.

We are looking forward to your visit.

Welcome to Riedel!

Have now been 3 times. The tour is a must to appreciate the value of hand made glass. Great stock available in their shop. You can also do a wine tasting to appreciate the different shapes of glasses.

This tour should be on your list of to do's if you are a wine drinker. The background on the Riedel family and their long history of glass work is coupled on the transition to creation of special wine glasses. Watching the staff create glasses and glass art is awesome. The ways that they can flex and shape molten glass... More

If You are a wine-lover and fan of Riedel-glass this is the Place for You. A large collection of all series of Riedel-glasses. Good price in both shops, even cheaper in the outlet-shop. Compare to Sweden I save 50% in the outlet-shop. Highly recommended.

We planed our trip to Kufstein just to visit the Kufstein glass factory (the first and original one). All the crystal glasses making process is open to the public and you can see how they handcraft most of the products they make. On top of that, there is a nice 6 chamber senses experience where they explain how the wine... More
