Being from Sikkim, I had hardly been to Tendong hill. December of 2019, I had the opportunity to camp overnight at Tendong. As we hiked our way through the forest via Chuba Perbing village walking across Oak and Chestnut forest, enjoying the wilted maple trees it started snowing, at first we were perplexed and but our excitement were beyond imagination, we were using torch light to find out way, we reached late in the evening around 8:30 and not much was visible, we set our camp for the night and complimented our accomplishment with some quick dinner, we thought we would go for early sleep and wake up bright early, well into the night temperature reached below freezing about - 8 degrees Celsius and it was a tough night to endure but the next morning we were able to take so pictures of the place and it was well blessed. We were able to see 360 degrees panoramic view of Kanchenjunga range with early morning sunrise, which was fully worth the hike. Light reflecting from the snow was making the place surreal and mystical. Divine blessing!…

It is a good half day activity for families in Namchi. There are three activities that one can do here. A short walk takes you to 113 ft high statue of Divine guru of Buddhists. One can see this statue as soon as you reach Namchi. Secondly one can go for a ropeway ride and thirdly visit Rock garden. Small eateries offer fast food options. Plenty of parking place. Taxies are available from Namchi market and charge Rs 500 per trip.…
