This amazing collection of WW2 memorabilia really makes one think . The devotion of the owner to collecting items and remembering the past is astounding . It's not modern at all but an incredible assortment of memorabilia , including German pieces rarely seen . The owner greets you on arrival and is an amazing man to talk to . Well... More

I am not really comfortable that I am scoring this five, but am doing so to ensure that people see the artefacts, collection and in many cases very rare items from a very difficult period in European and world history. Many of the items on display were rare and indeed in some cases you would be surprised that such items... More

What a wonderful museum. It's full of interesting things, some items must be pretty rare. Information is provided in English. Very helpful gentleman looking after it.

Like so many reviewers we stopped off for just over an hour on our Hurtigruten cruise (we did the Bergen to Kirkenes trip). We stopped in and were amazed at this treasure trove of artefacts and memorabilia. The owner, William, happened to be in at the time and we have a great conversation, including poring over a water colour that... More

I wasn't certain what to expect, but any expectations were surpassed. One is thrust back into history. The uniforms and memorabilia were impressive, but often there were many interesting pieces of history. To learn of the cruelty of the Gestapo officer, Sigfried Fehmer; and then to know he was captured and executed; to see the items fashioned by prisoners of... More

Our cruise boat arrived in the evening and the museum had stayed open for us in this very quiet coastal town. I was not prepared for how much could be contained in such a small space! I only had an hour but could have spent three hours viewing all the exhibits that had English as well as Norwegian explanations. I... More

The owner of this privately run museum deserves a medal for putting up such a wonderful variety of items from the last war.

Incredible and vast collection of memorabilia and by far the best war museum I have ever visited. A lot of original and personal items with accompanying stories and historic anecdotes. Totally absorbing - the best attraction in Lofoten.

Great, albeit small and personal museum. It contains a lot of unique findings concerning the 2nd world war in northern Norway. However it is good to read up on the war events ahead of the visit, so that understanding the artifacts is easier, because the information is randomly added and an overview is lacking. Nonetheless, this museum is a a... More
