The beach on display
Sep 2019
About anything you can find on the beach (especially after a storm) you could find in this museum. If you are interested in what actually has been found - this is a place to go.

A very interesting concept for a museum, we enjoyed it a lot! They have many different items from various wrecks from different ages. It is also a nice place to get some rest and a coffee during visiting Terschelling. The only disadvantage was that all the descriptions were in Dutch... But google translate dealt with it quite well! :)

Great private Museum with a chaotic collection ofall kind of things to be found on the beach, in the northsee and elsewhere. Also a great idea for rainy days as it is a Restaurant and Pub at the same time

Such an impressive place. This all was found at the beach or in the sea.
Great to see the presentation of all the goods. Especially the park behind the house. A little new world for children.

People should be more into details like that!

nice trip

This is an aim for a trip whenever you stay on the island. We payed 4 € entrance fee and I must say it was worth it. There you can see a lot of artefacts which come from wracks out of the North Sea. You won´t find a treasures in there but a lot of intersting things

Interesting museum
May 2017 • Couples
The museum displays cargo from ships that were wrecked mostly nearby, although some of the objects were found across the world, as well as objects that were washed ashore. There are no great archaeological finds on display, but many smaller ones from ships that were wrecked in the 1600´s to rather recent wrecks. Highlights are the crystal glasses meant for the Russian tsar, a porcelain set destined for Turkey, as well as military finds from the battle of Jutland. Also on display is some of the very early diving equipment used to try salvage parts or cargo of sunken boats. The most modern finds, washed ashore, are the sneakers, as well as cigarettes. There is a bar/cafe downstairs and a garden with a nice play area for children. The entrance fee is rather low, and the museum gives a good taste of local life.

Museum for Children and for the Young at Heart
May 2017
Don't expect glimming articles or artifacts from previous civilisation. Most of the things kept in this museum are articles salvaged from shipwrecked. Parts and tools used in ships. Diving Equipments and other materials used for diving. What's interesting is how they make the visit to the museum interesting for the children. They give questionnaire to children when answered correctly and completely will give them a treat. A Free Pancake. Children below 150 cm. will only have to pay €2. Above 2 meter is free. Behind the museum is a pirate ship with different amenities to entertain children for the rest of the day while giving their parents to take a pick on their phone and have a drink or two.

a nice surprise!

The Wrakkenmuseum is also the Juttersmuseum and a playground for kids, all in one and all for one, low price. it is an excellent museum for all ages. Some of the exhibits are very funny, some are very interesting and the playground is great for kids. This Museum also offers a menu for lunch or for snacks in between meals. The food is very affordable, just like the entrance fee. You can easily spend and hour and a half or two hours here, so it's great for a rainy day.

Wreckage
Jun 2016 • Solo
This museum shows items from ship wrecks, mostly from around Terschelling. Some things washed ashore, many items were retrieved by diving operations. Many small items transported by ships, many items belonging to the ships themselves, up to cannons and submarine towers, and also some parts of war planes. There are also items on display from some shipwrecks at other places around the world. The Dutch descriptions provide the necessary background information. Everything looks a bit shabby and rusty, as it should. Great place to spend an hour or two when on the island, also to have a drink. The museum is a bit similar to the beach combing museum on Texel, but smaller, and it does not have complete ships.
