This is an old tower situated right at the end of the promenade. There’s not much to look at really as you can’t go inside but worth viewing if you happen to be in the area but no worth making a special journey to see...More

Came across this by accident. Had to google it for info, I had never heard of it. Lovely old fortification, now closed. It has a moat and remnants of the wooden struts that formed part of the drawbridge. Would have been a fabulous setting, but...More

Staying in Marsascala, we were strolling along the bay when noticing the massive bastion in the evening. Despite its size, it was dwarfed by the huge remnants of the Jerma Palace Hotel, opened in 1982 and closed for good in 2007. After being stripped of...More

I have walked past this tower on many occasions and always wanted to see inside. Finally got a chance and had a really interesting tour with a young, knowledgable, Italian student. He was very enthusiastic. The area around the tower has been cleared and it...More

Reading the other reviews I totally agree with what has been written but the tower is currently open to the public until 8 September and is manned by 2 volunteers, students from Italy. They have cleaned the approach and the entrance bridge by removing all...More

The watchtower itself is a large and beautiful structure, but it is abandoned and neglected. Apparently it is the largest watchtower on the island, but sits on some scrub wasteland inhabited by cats and opposite an unfinished and abandoned hotel structure covered in some great...More

This corner of Marsaskala has the potential to be a beautiful focal point for the town. First knock down the abandoned hotel [how was it ever a good idea to build it?] before anyone tries to re-vamp it. Use the space to enhance the massive...More

I don't think this place is available to visit now. It's very run down and is not really somewhere you can enjoy as a visit. A abandoned hotel is found behind it.

The tower is majestic. Hopefully it will be turned into an attraction soon as I think it would be really nice to view and visit. It is nicely nested at the farthest end of Marsascala.

This tower has a lot of history...but it's closed up and not being used. I walked around it a few times. It seems the feral kitties are making use of it.
