The walls are the main attraction of Monteriggioni . By buying a ticket for the museum , the visitor is entitles to walk the walls ! Unfortunately the towers are not accessible and there is a part that is still under restoration ! Yet the...More

We stopped at this small town which is noted for its ancient fortified walls on a day trip from Florence to Siena. It was studded with wine shops. We were in the Chianti region of Italy after all. The surrounding scenery was spectacular.

We got to visit 5 hilltowns in Tuscany, all different in the experience they offered. Monteriggioni was the smallest of the towns we visited but it gave a very good perspective of a walled town which was more difficult to see in the larger towns...More

Pleasant hilltop town. Several restaurants and a few shops as well as the medieval walls. There is a lovely small church open for viewing. Lots of parking. To exit parking you have to walk out of the parking lot then back to your car then...More

It's a short climb to the wall, and the views of the inside city and outer countryside are well worth the small effort and the modest price. Be aware that there are two sections to the wall, which must be accessed from separate points.

Our son wanted to visit this village that appears in a video casanne he plays. History read great, walls being restored and people actually reside in this beautiful walled village which matches it really neat. Enjoyed the shops and surrounding areas. Would suggest dining off...More

Very small, interesting town that one can visit in about an hour. Walking the walls is worth the vistas that you can see.

Worth doing, though you are just there for the view and you don't see much of the walls. The 14 towers themselves are off limits. Some informative if brief labels help landscape interpretation. There's an AR mobile phone option via the app but it didn't...More

Over restored tourist trap, charges for walking round the wall head, car park a rip off, charges not advertised until past the barrier, although bafflingly there is a small free car park just before the main one. Not worth the trip.

Had a great experience walking the walls and enjoying the picturesque view. If you are an Assassins Creed fan then you must walk the walls , see the church and the bell tower.

There are no "tours" per se. It's an open little town that would welcome a visit. Despite its size, it is a real town and doesn't treat itself like an attraction. There is parking in the main square and other locations... More
