The castle has been beautifully preserved and it is still lived in. The grounds are gorgeous. The church that is inside of the walls was built in the 1200's as was the rest of the castle, simple, with a sense of serenity that cannot only...More

The title of the review says it all. Dramatically photogenic from below with wonderful views from ramparts but the level of access[two small sections-reduced charge for seniors] is a disappointment. Entry ticket also buys you access to a small armoury museum in the town.

This walk was so interesting, and scenic , absolutely stunning. The town is historic, and quite compact, so the walk didn't take too long, allow at least one hour, as you can stop at certain points admiring views.

When you see it from the botón of the hill, it looks impressive. But once you behind the walls. There is not that much to see.

Worth climbing the stairs even on a warm summer day. You can't walk the whole round but you'll get a nice view over the tuscan landscape

Perfect Toscana walled city, grand edifice surrounding the medieval village from invaders long ago...not the towers like San Gimignano, but still fascinating and picturesque! Great views from the top of the walls of the surrounding countryside!

There are no "tours" per se. It's an open little town that would welcome a visit. Despite its size, it is a real town and doesn't treat itself like an attraction. There is parking in the main square and other locations... More
