Unknown Solidier
Sep 2019
Another very well looked after tribute to the young men who lost their lives in this area. The Unknown Solidier now at home in Canberra was taken from here - the grave still marked.

This is another reminder that we should not forget and be sure to honor these people at ANZAC Day every year. Lest we forget.

Don't overlook this cemetery, so moving for Australians.
Sep 2019
This is not the big Australian Memorial that most go to but worth hunting down. It's full of Australian Soldiers, most unknown graves. It's very moving and they deserve some recognition too. We actually found it more emotional than most of the other big memorials. So many were just 18 & 19 just boys and now lay here forever.

Stop and remember
Aug 2019
We make a point of stopping at as many of the Cemeteries as we can when we are in the area simply to visit those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Stroll, look and remember.

Sad place

Worth a visit. But sad place. So many died in the horror of war. Good to remember but a sad part of history

An Aussie cemetery,
Jun 2019
When you visit Adelaide cemetery in VB, you see so many graves. Stop and read the messages , so sad . The unknown soldier was once here, now he lays in Canberra. A beautifully kept cemetery, a must see. Be careful driving as the road is extremely busy.

A place of major significance
May 2019 • Friends
It was from here that the remains of the unknown Australian soldier were exhumed a replaced at the War Memorial in Canberra.
The headstone can be located near the 3rd tree on the left, 2 headstone rows to the right.
Beautifully maintained by the CWGC.
Parking is limited on the main road and the cemetery is a short walk from the road.

If you can use the word. On the road to Ameins . Small car parking area on a very busy road. Short walk up a small lane way to the gate.

An Anzac Day Pilgrimage that was both historical & moving
Apr 2019 • Couples
After attending my first overseas Anzac Day service @ Villers Bretonneaux in France 🇫🇷 also travelled to the Adelaide Cemetery there.Surprised to learn that this is where the Unknown soldier was exhumed and relocated to Canberra in Australia 🇦🇺. The young men who gave their lives for their country and for freedom was both selfless and amazing. To see them buried near their mates was a moving experience and something I’ll never forget. Glad I had the opportunity to witness this in person

If you are in the area you should visit
Oct 2018 • Couples
We walked here from the war memorial, was a good walk but did take some time.
We were the only people in the cemetery, which gave us time to walk around.
It would be good if there was some more information in the cemetery.
If you are in the area you should come here and pay your respects.

Unknown Australian Soldier Grave
Jun 2018 • Solo
408 Australian soldiers are buried in this cemetery, most of whom died in 1918 during the defense of Amiens. Particularly remarkable was the grave of the soldier who became Australia's Unknown Soldier. A CWGC maintenance crew of 6 people was hard at work on the cemetery grounds during my visit.
