I went on a lavender fields hunt just a couple days ago ( last days of June), using this store as a starting place. Leaving from Aix, you'll find Lavande Angelvin almost arriving on Valensole. It's a charming little store, with a nice lavender field, but nothing from another world. Since it is on a place where you'll find the first fields, crowded with tourists. If you want to see the huge purple fields, go to Valensole, and put on your navigator "Puimoisson", using the D56 road. No tourists, and endless fields by yourself ( and the bees, buzzing all the time)! From Puimoisson, take the D953 and the D8 to see some other amazing fields on your way back to Aix (if you're staying there - something that I recommend). End on June / beginning of July was a perfect time for us. Hope this helps!

This field and the shop next to it is an easy and excellent way to see the lavender and buy some lavender products as well. The field is tidy and you can tell that it is well maintained, to a large extent for the tourist wanting the lavender picture that is iconic. However, this is a good starting point for a trip around the plateau and you should try to make the full circuit. You'll find more fields of different characteristics but still stunning. When to come then? Well, first you'll have to be there at the end of June/beginning of July. This is when the fields bloom. Secondly, for photos, you might want to aim for either early morning or late afternoon/sunset. This field will have the sunset behind the field so you'll have to cross it to get the right light on the lavender. Before lunch, you can stay at the roadside and get the lonely tree instead. An amazing place!

If you are looking for lavender, Valensole is one of the best areas. I was here in the middle of July 2015. Beautiful, strong smell, very purple but lots of people. If you are driving, you will find lavender fields of differens sizes along most of the roads in the Valensole area (like D6 and D15) and might stumble upon one where you are (almost) alone. Lots of bees and signs sometimes warn you about snakes in the fields so be careful when walking out into the purple ocean.

If you are in Provence to experience the lavender industry in all its glory, then Angelvin is the place to visit.Copious fields of Lavender, a distillery, and an excellent shop filled with articles of lavender origin, from soaps and perfumes to honey and confectionery.
It is definitely a one-stop place to see all that the magic of lavender has to offer.

If you've ever daydreamed about endless fields of lavender, this place is it. More fields than you can imagine to fulfill all your Instagram dreams.
There's many fields in the area, but this one is very well kept, has a gift shop where you can stock up on lavender soap, and even a little food kiosk in front that sells lavender ice cream.
It's completely free to walk around the fields. But timing is everything! These fields are really only in bloom from late June to mid July. Definitely plan your trip with these dates in mind - it's worth seeing! If you're within those dates, remember to check their website to see if the lavenders are in bloom for your trip so you wont be disappointed - the dates can vary.

This is an absolute must-see in the provence! The lavender fields seems so unreal because they are unique in this region. We've been here in the afternoon and luckily again at sunset, because this is the best time for a gorgeous view. Of course there are tourists and half-pro fotographs, but you can make your perfect picture easiely.

Stopped here on the way to the Gorge of Verdon From Marseille. It was easy to find and in July there were alot of flowers in bloom.
I found free parking on the opposite side of the road and across the field I found a store that sold hand made lavender products that were priced well.

Best place to see lavender fields during our recent visit. Try to go early in the morning for most vivid purple colors, fewer crowds and less bees! We went at 8 am and it was perfect. By 930 am, sun was bright and colors were starting to wash out.
On google maps, put in this point. Don’t stop before! There’s a pullout you can park directly across from the lavender fields.
Close by are some golden wheat fields (opposite side of the road)

Buongiorno, qualcuno mi può dire a che punto è la fioritura della lavanda in Provenza? Sono andata lo scorso anno ma purtroppo era ancora all’inizio e non era ancora fiorita non vorrei che mi capitasse lo stesso! Grazie mille

14-15 agosto 2019 c’è ancora qualche campo di lavanda fiorito? Nelle zone più alte?
Grazie
