Great sand and views, but very crowded and noisy. Lots of drinking. People coming directly off the ferry looking to get wasted. Lots of young adults and craziness.

I worked at Ballard's in the summer of 1965 and this was my first revisit. Due to poor planning, I arrived at Block Island 3 days after Ballard's was closed for the season. My disappointment was more than compensated by a rare sighting. A dead...More

Walked out there last week on the breakwater on a lovely fall sunny day. On return did a walk on the beach which immediately fronts the closed patio. VERY SAD to see how much trash is on the beach mostly in the form of empty...More

To be fair, in my experience, there are both pros and cons to this beach. It's ideally located very near the pier & port so you can step off the ferry and walk here like we did and spend the day here if that's what...More

Close to most Inns and hotels. Great beach, lots of food and all day live music. A great way to spend the day.

An over crowded and over priced beach meat market. Where people have so much to drink that they don't notice how bad the bands are. The fries were good!

This is a great place to watch the ferries come in and out, and to see the fishermen come in with their catches. It's nice to see the daily life!
