I have been going to Kirby Hall since I was a small child and I simply adore the place. I took my two boys under five on Saturday. It hadn't been my intention to go in, we were just going to collect conkers from the trees outside. But they were so excited. They spent 90% of the visit running around... More

Me and my partner had a lovely morning looking around Kirby Hall. It's not hard to imagine how spectacular it would have looked if it had been looked after. Would highly recommend a visit if in the area.

Fascinating old house which is partially a ruin and with a garden which English Heritage are restoring. The audio tour was well worthwhile and very informative too. This property has a good shop. We will return to this house just to see how English Heritage developed it.

There's a saying "it'll be nice when it's finished," and it's true here, although they are making a real effort with the place. Partly in ruins, the intact part of the building is being restored to its former glory, and along with the gardens is well worth a visit.

Beautiful place, but much restoration to do. Interesting history and architecturally but an empty shell in a lovely setting. Go on a sunny day, or at least a dry one. Friendly chap in shop, clean but spartan toilet facilities and no cafe. Can get hot/cold drinks and ice creams at the shop.

We visited as a family with my 6 year old son and it was a great way to spend a couple of hours. He thoroughly enjoyed exploring and finding out information on the Hall. The Hall is fascinating and lovely to walk around and try to imagine how it was in its heyday. There are a lot of information points... More

I visited Kirby hall having been there last as a child. Lots of work has been done to the Hall, gardens and visitor centre. Great place steeped in history, well worth a visit.

Kirby Hall is a beautiful location with a relaxed atmosphere and gentle ambiance; one of our favourite picnic spots - although this has been affected a little by the opening, close by, of Rockingham Raceway, which can sometimes be heard in the background, however we've never found it too disruptive. On your first visit you will be given an audio... More
