Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful church which has a lot of history. It's quite modest, but I think the modest decor fits like a glove. Besides the church itself, also the surrounding cemetery is quite pretty. I was once in a guided tour here, it was interesting.
This is quite popular church (for weddings etc) and there is sometimes lot's of music concerts also.

The Church of St. Lawrence is a church in Vantaa dating back to 1450. It is the oldest building in Vantaa.
The Helsingin pitäjä district is one of the best-preserved historical parishes in Finland. There are many old houses around the church area.
The medieval church was badly destroyed in a fire in 1893, after which it was reconstructed in a Gothic Revival style. The church got Neo-Gothic style tapered windows, pulpit, benches, galleries, and a copper roof.
The church is a very popular wedding church and venue for concerts.

This church made of stone was built around 1450. It is the oldest building around Helsinki. Very beautiful smallish church inside out. It's no wonder the church is one of the most popular wedding churches in the country. After renovation in the Spring time the church is open again.

This fascinating church is located near Helsinki airport. The church dates back to the 16 th century. It is made of natural stone with beautiful wood carvings inside.Take a break and enjoy a calming moment in the old village surrounding it and have afternoon tea in Cafe Laurentius,a traditional wooden house, by the gate to the churchyard.

The church of St Laurensius (Pyhä Lauri) is located near airport Helsinki-Vantaa and shoppingarea Tammisto. The oldiest houses of the village Church village - Kirkonkylä are from 1700. The church is an old stonechurch and daily open in days. During the sommer you could find free music-concerts in daytimes and don´t forget BRQ-baroc music festival in the beginning of augusti. Busses from Tikkurila 571 will take you there. During the sommartime you will also find a cafe Laurentius in the parkingarea.

What is so special with this church? My opinion is that there were too many people and all of them looked very sad. Even the female squirrel that we saw in spruce looked unhappy. I have seen many better old churches. And happier squirrels too.

Old and beautiful church in countrisde surroundings, although so close to urban parts of Vantaa. Easy access by public transport. 10 min drive from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, so if you have a short stop over, this could be a place to see nearby!

What is the mode of transport available from the airport & is it possible to have a comfortable visit to this place during a four hour stopover at Helsinki Airport?

Hello! Best option is to take a taxi and ask it to wait. There is also bus number 561 which makes You walk about 1km to and from the church and I am not sure of its timetable. The church is open mo-fri 12.00-20.00 and there is a guide 12.30-20.00 during summertime until 31.8-18. I hope this will help You and welcome to Finland!
