Heureka science center has a lot of interactive exhibitions, definitely interesting for children or adults who like to explore science. The instructions are given in English, Finnish and Swedish, helpful to tourists. The ticket includes free entry to the planeterium shows. But the planeterium equipment can be a bit upgraded. Good on-site restaurant, but slightly more expensive than those in the city. Highly recommend for families with kids!

An incredible place for the little science-enthusiasts as you get to touch, try out or even smell many wonders of the exhibitions. There is also a planetarium on site where you can see 3D films. It is included in the price of the entrance ticket if you wish to see what they currently have on show. Quite a busy place as many school trips seem to come there so be prepared to enjoy the museum with a bit of chaos of running children around you. Some of the equipment was broken or not working properly, but it didn’t diminish the overall experience.
There is also a restaurant with quite a few options even for vegans. Would definitely recommend vegetable balls with pasta:)

This science museum opened its doors to the public in 1989. However, this was our first visit. Probably because it was just recently the Finnish Museum Card was accepted. Also, we knew that this museum has more to offer for kids.

The museum is very interactive and requires much touching to different things. During this COVID pandemic, it is maybe not the ideal place to explore science. Although there were hand disinfectant dispensers to be easily found.

For us, the wood exhibition was the most interesting. It demonstrated the versatility of wood as a material.

1. Tickets
- You must buy a ticket online otherwise you will be staying in front of the cashier and do it on your mobile hanging a queue.
- You will still get a stickers at cashier, so no chance to avoid contact with cashier anyway.

2. Inside
- Old and damaged equipment for general exhibition
- Currently two exhibits are bit boring (dinosaurs was much more funnier year ago), might be useless if you have small kids
- Planetarium is good for kids 5+
- there's a lot of items that are touched by guests. I did not see at all that anybody from Heurika's stuff was trying to clean the equipment

3. Shop
- You can buy a stuff only if you have mobilpay or cash
- Don't buy toys/experiments with chemicals, they are expired and doesn't work

I visited this place with my 8 yrs old brother and he loved it there. Great place for all families with children. Many interesting activities for older teenagers too. There is a cafe/restaurant inside of the center, good for taking a break with some coffee..)

Our visit happened to be in the Covid time and tickets were sold online on the website only, which was quick and easy. Also the hand sanitizer machines were put in all center areas.

Definitely recommend!

Nice science center with lots of activities for all ages, enabling you to learn though doing. In addition, you get to make your own custom wood key decor and a coin with your own face on that you get to take with you home. Our personal highlight was the electricity-themed interactive room, as well as the various experiments. Definitely a worthwhile place to visit!

When we arrived at the Heureka science park we found that during the Covid crisis you are supposed to pre-book on line. We did not know this and had to pre-book at the enterance. It was very expensive to get in, something like 22 euros for adults and 15 euros for children. There was lots to do inside, some intended for adults and some for children. Everything had explanations in Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian although in my opinion many were too complicated for children to understand, even when explained by adults. As a result I noticed children were mostly just playing on the many attractions, without any idea of what was happening or why. But the children did seem to enjoy themselves, certainly a place to take them on a rainy day. The staff were helpful both at the desk and inside, one lady in particular was very helpful explaining how to use different activities.

Heureka was a bit desappointing. The main exhibitions were about trees and farming. There were some fun and interactive technology exhibitions. Also interactive exhibition about brains was fun. I wouldn’t recommend Heureka for couples. Tickets were quite expensive.

Heureka is always worth a visit, lots of things to see and learn for people of all ages! Especially children will enjoy this place because they can try out and do scientific things for themselves too.
