The Discovery Centre is a world-class ecotourism facility nestled in the heart of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. As the #1 Attraction in the Daintree it provides a wonderful introduction to this iconic world heritage destination. The spectacular Canopy Tower and Aerial Walkway allow visitors to explore every level of the forest and Audio Guides in 6 languages are a hit with overseas visitors. But it is it’s innovative Carbon Offset Project that is attracting attention! Part of every entry fees goes towards ‘saving the planet’ via its bio-sequestration scheme. The Discovery Centre is sustainable ecotourism at its best!

This is a good starting point for touring the Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation. There is a café and various merchandise on sale.

As a tourist, I visited the center twice with two different tours. During the first, I attended a welcoming smoke session. The indigenous introduce visitors to the gods who welcome them as they walk through smoke from paper bark. The gentleman who ran the ceremony...More

Hi Clare, you have reviewed Mossman Gorge which is not the Daintree Discovery Centre, we are glad you enjoyed your visit though.

The aerial walkway is a nice way to see mid-level rainforest and a 23m tower takes you up to the tree tops. You are given a guide book as well as an audio guide which has a lot of talking but some interesting info. It...More

I found the Daintree Discovery Centre a great introduction to the Daintree. The audio tour (included with admission) provides some great insights as does the interpretation centre. It was raining quite a bit the day I was there, so we didn't see much wildlife, but...More

During our visit to the Cairns region, we had already had a couple of informal information sessions with rangers concerning the rainforest. However, nothing beats the information provided at the Discovery Centre. There are a number of walks focussing on different aspects of the environment....More

This was one of the highlights of the Daintree. The days cost entitled you to go back for free another day.
