The Discovery Centre is a world-class ecotourism facility nestled in the heart of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. As the #1 Attraction in the Daintree it provides a wonderful introduction to this iconic world heritage destination. The spectacular Canopy Tower and Aerial Walkway allow visitors to explore every level of the forest and Audio Guides in 6 languages are a hit with overseas visitors. But it is it’s innovative Carbon Offset Project that is attracting attention! Part of every entry fees goes towards ‘saving the planet’ via its bio-sequestration scheme. The Discovery Centre is sustainable ecotourism at its best!

We were a bit disappointed, especially after the write up in National Geographic. It is quite pricey, and the fake "dinosaurs" making wierd noises are perplexing at best. The only decent part is the tower that lets you see above the canopy. For a far better, and free experience, go to the free "aerial walkway" at the Barron Gorge National... More

Thanks for taking the time to review, our new display includes dinosaurs and megafauna that were found in North Qld, it is designed like the rest of our Centre to give people an understanding of how ancient the Daintree Rainforest is, the oldest lowland rainforest on the planet!! We hope you had a great holiday in FNQ. More

The discovery centre & staff are worth more than I could ever say; highly informative, a unique way to explore the many layers of the forest & all money goes back into the centre, research & conservation of the area. The staff showed us how enthusiastic they are about the creatures & conservation, sharing a wealth of knowledge & taking... More

The Discovery Centre is a great excursion for kids. Also great for adults if you really enjoy the rainforest. We were keen just to have a wander around and learn some new things which this Centre catered for. I thought it was slightly overpriced (approx $60 for two adults) although if you stayed for longer it is better value we... More

The property is very nice and well maintained and incredibly informative, there is a lot of information there to take in if you keep your eyes open! The staff are helpful and clearly dedicated to their work because it shows in the presentation.

We went with our 2 boys (aged 4) and my 76 year old nan. It was an amazing place to visit for all ages. We saw lots of wildlife and plants during the beautiful walk. The dinosaur exhibit was a cool novelty. A friendly staff member ran out the front and showed us a cassowary walking in the bush. It... More

We stopped here on our trip in December. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but was very impressed by the centre. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and fully explained how everything worked. My 6 year old son loved the kids mode on the radios. I have never seen him so interested in what was being said! Well... More

Great instituitional place to show people all walks of life in rainforest. We drove to the Daintree on a whim with no preplanning. We found the discovery centre and stopped in. A modest admission cost allowed us to spend as long as we wanted deep in the rainforest, using both the interpretive audio and written guides to understand the things we were seeing. Centre staff were very kind, friendly and prepared and... More

This attraction has boardwalks and a tower to climb up and see the view from tops of the trees. Thanks for taking the time to review and we hope you had a wonderful holiday.
