The lady at the visitors center in Peggy's cove mentioned this place so we stopped on our way back to halifax. This is the kind of place I love to find while on vacation. Canada's largest hammock sits out front for you to climb in and take a picture. We saw the rope being made and the lady making hammocks... More

We were on the way to the lighthouse in Peggy's Cove when we saw this gem. I loved the big hammock and the store was really cute. So happy we got to see this :)

This is a hammock factory, store and art gallery. They do have some interesting things, but we went past before we realized what it was about. On the return trip, we made a point of stopping. The owners are friendly not pushy like we remember the former owner. The art and photographs are well worth a look and the hammocks... More

While we did not purchase a hammock, the proprietor was amiable, friendly, and had a wealth of information. I am used to hand made hammocks from other areas of the world, and these are equal if not better in quality.

A place to stop to see the BIG hammock. The kids loved it. Don't drive by without going in and saying Hi.

As a tour operator we have stopped in at the Bay Hammock Company many times with guests from Alaska to Australia. Everyone finds it interesting to see the machines making the rope and occasionally we'll catch a demonstration of the hammock beds being woven and assembled. There's also the gallery of works by local artists that Anne organizes. Archie and... More

Archie and his wife make rope from recycled plastic and then turn this into hammocks over every size. Great to see it all being done. His wife manages a small gallery of local artists paintings- lovely people, great product

Me and my wife visited the Bat hammock and were so well welcomed that we bought one for us. After 3 years it is still in great shape and use it all the time. we were so impressed that when we have company and go visit Peggys cove, we make sure we have time to show them this spot. Even... More

My sister and I were impressed to see how rope is made. We were also given a demo on how to weave a hammock similar to the one we bought! It was shipped home as a Father's day gift and it made it there before our trip even ended! It is wonderful to see things are indeed still made by... More
