We visited here whilst on a cruise, we found the sanctuary in a travel guide. It is an amazing place, the road to it is extremely bumpy, but worth the effort to see the sanctuary. It is a small bird sanctuary but the most amazing thing is they give you a small bottle of sugar water and you sit with... More

I could not believe that you really could feed the humming birds but you could and that was awesome. I have seen hummings birds in Jamaica and othet islands before but not this close. There were many humming birds and other birds to see and you did not have to wait for long for them to come and sit on... More

This was my first time at a bird sanctuary and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hummingbirds were what originally caught my interest in going but there are hundreds of birds that have been traveling great distances to return to this same spot. Our taxi brought us here. It's not off the main road as you can imagine. They should be able... More

We took a cab ($90) to the sanctuary high in the mountains outside Montego Bay. Very informal atmosphere. You sit on a patio surrounded by lush vegetation and magical Dr. & Mango hummingbirds that will land on your finger to bottle feed. Well worth the $20 per person admission if you like these little guys !

Nice hummingbirds but insisted we all pay $20 USD each after visiting for 10 minutes and they were quite intimidating. There are no signs saying that there is a $20 charge. In fact we were told previously that we only have to give a donation. This used to be a nice place a few years ago and now unfortunately it... More

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience and felt the fee to be unfair. Entry fee for more than 30 years there has been an entry fee policy this is how we have improved the facilities over time. The fees are posted widely as USD$20 for entry, on many Websites from facebook to tripadvisor. Fees go to... More

It was amazing to have the hummingbirds come and sit on your finger! If you like to go bird watching the walking tour is good, but a bit long if this does not interest you. It was great to see the nature and wildlife. The tour guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Definitely recommended as a quick excursion just outside... More

We had Riley Tours drive us up the (rough & bumpy) road to get to the Rockland Bird Sanctuary. It was worth it to see this! Darleen (from Riley tours) held our cameras for us and took some excellent photos of us feeding the hummingbirds!

Rocklands Bird Sanctuary is situated about 30 minutes outside Montego Bay up in the mountains. Hummingbirds will come sit on your index finger while you feed them sugar water they drink from a bottle. It is an awesome experience. There are also other birds at the feeders. There is a balcony with a beautiful view of Montego Bay. There is... More

I wanted to visit this bird sanctuary but since it was just me, couldn't book a tour from Montego Bay (cruise port). So I walked out of the port terminal area and got a taxi (where they are all waiting) to take me there and back for $50. I don't know if that was a good rate or not since... More

I love birds and was so excited to visit this place. We had a private driver take us on this remote, exciting, beautiful journey up in the hills. The person in charge took our $20 per person, handed us each a little liquor bottle filled with sugar water, and directed us to sit. We did have a hummingbird light on... More
