Graceful example of Mediaeval architecture

This is a stunning structure that arcs high above the stream below, standing below the builder's castle. It is known in Italy as a "donkey's back" because of its shape.

Sky sky sky, ground ground ground!

This is an incredible bridge. Traffic now restricted, but it is well worth visiting just to see the incredible architecture. It was commissioned in 1499, and crosses 42 metres over the river, and is 19 metres above it.

Local town has cafes and shops, and if you visit at the end of October, there is a chestnut festival.

Beautiful bridge and setting
Jun 2014 • Couples
This beautiful arch bridge was commissioned in 1499, and passes 42 meters over the Santerno river. Signs tell the entire history. You can walk across it and take marvelous photos, too. It stands just below the Castel del Rio, a Medieval fortress built simultaneously. It contains an amazing museum full of equipment from the World Wars, mostly WWII, and also has great relief war maps of the battle sites. There is a British Empire cemetery not far away.

Beautiful old bridge, definitely worth to see
May 2014 • Couples
During our road trip in Italy, we visited this very old (15th century), beautiful and elegant bridge. Surprisingly and sadly, cars are allowed to cross it! It was great to see it in real life after I saw it in some Italian comics by famous Magnus (there is a Sala Magnus devoted to him in a castle nearby).
