This is one of those magical places that if we're lucky we get to visit. About an hour and 15 minutes from Bergamo. There are several to chose from if you decide to visit. The museum is small but informative. I highly recommend a visit.

The different parks reviewed are confusing but we visited the one in Nadro, just a small village beneath the mountains and a beautiful setting. The walk itself is lovely, with stunning views of the mountains and shade available under the trees. The information boards are excellent and the rock drawings just amazing. Don't miss this if you're in the Lago Iseo area.

Tip: this walk requires a level of fitness and suitable footwear as there is a lot of ascent and descent on eroded paths.

This was our second visit to this Rock Art Natural Reserve known as "Foppe di Nadro". This time we bought our tickets at the small museum in Nadro and did a loop trip that took about two hours. Both visits were in September, 2010 and 2013. The earlier time we were in a constant rain and we walked almost to the town of Cimbergo and back. in 2013 we had dry weather and it was much easier to take photos. All the petroglyphs are well marked with depictions of some rock art that may be difficult to see depending on the lighting. It is a wonderful place to hike in the forest, even if rock art is just an extra. The museum in Nadro is very educational and takes about a half hour to tour. We will be back again this September, 2014.
