About

Even by rain

My kids had the freedom of going from one to another place, as they encountered very few other visitors. Some kids group with their nurses, who kept them well together.

Very interesting
Jun 2018
My wife and I spent an interesting hour or so at the Tropiquarium de Servion. The standout creatures were the crocodiles and kimono dragon. The display enclosures were clean, tidy and well thought-out in terms of the animals' welfare. The cafeteria looks as though it has just had a renovation, judging by the bright colours but we both thought the service from the waitress was poor. A smile would have been nice.

Fantastic !

This is a dreaming place not only for us visitors but also for the animals.
We are lucky enough to live not far away from this paradise and enyoy everytime we go there the highly professional and friendly owner that welcome visitors.
The staff is great at provinding details on animals and reminding young and "less youngs" how to respect them.
You can enjoy this place when it's sunny but also when it's raining as there is a lot of things to do inside.

Good place to observe reptiles, mainly.
Sep 2016 • Family
Many species of reptiles and some other animals such as frogs, pingouins et birds.
The animals are very healthy and kept very well.
The place is very clean but quite far from the bigger cities around the area.

I loved this place. Watching the penguins being fed was fun. Animals are kept in good condition. If you happen to be nearby, I recommend to visit.

Very nice display of reptiles

We went the second time to the Tropiquarium and were again positively surprised. The design is modern and very nice, actually much better than most cages of the neighbouring zoo (which we visited at the same time). Especially the new house, in which the kommodo waran is shown is very nice. The outside playarea for kids is great as well. It's a bit smaller than that of the Zoo, but much less crowded. Overall definitely worth a visit. Based on display of the animals and the design I would prefer visiting the Tropiquarium over the Servion Zoo. However young kids are rather into the animals of the Zoo than reptiles. It's really a shame that the Zoo and Tropiquarium are separated. There is a combined ticket for CHF17, which is still quite a steep price given rather small size.

Great time and discovery of fantastic reptiles ! Except the poor penguins
Dec 2015 • Family
We had a really great time at the Tropiquarium of Servion, as well the adults than the kids (aged 2 to 6 years old). So many different amazing reptiles in a clean warm and green environment. There is a small restaurant but you can also bring your pic-nic. There is also an outside play area. An educative room about energies. Lots to do !! Only the poor penguins should not be there. They seriously looked depressed and I genuinely don't see what do they do in such a place. To the owner: please remove them and give them to an appropriate place !!

In need of renovation
Aug 2015
This was our second visit in 3 years, and having discovered the Papiliorama in Kerzen very recently, we found the Tropiquarium rather run down in comparison, and in need of revamping overall. The animal spaces felt a bit small, there were more mice around than we remembered from last time (e.g. running among the birds, next to the ostrich eggs and so on), and we felt rather sorry for the poor penguins in their small pool. The most interesting space for us was the new area for the Komodo dragons, which was much modern than the rest in its conception (and the animals themselves were impressive, despite not being too big).

A must visit if you are visiting Servion zoo. Lots of water birds, penguins, turtles etc. There is a small coffee bar inside, much more pleasant than the "restaurant" in the zoo.

Skip the Zoo go to the Tropicarium!
Apr 2015 • Family
Not affiliated with the Zoo next door (thank goodness!), the Tropicarium is a welcome relief after having visited the Servion Zoo on many occasions. The Tropicarium is well laid out, planned for kids in mind, they even have childrens mobile steps so the kids can see into the displays if they need to.
Though it is on the small side it is worth the visit with the kids. There are several areas to visit including the penguin tank and giant lizards dome which has a crocodile, komodo dragons and giant tortoises. Well worth a look.
The facilities are new and clean, in stark contrast with the Zoo next door. Food is a welcome surprise with good snack and finger food with good coffee available.. Again in stark contrast to the Zoo next door which must have shares in a "french fries" factory somewhere and whose staff seldom manage a smile.
The play area outside isn't as well furnished as the Zoo however its sufficient enough for the kids to be occupied, runaround and have some fun.

All in all this is a great place that's well worth the visit if you are in the region. If you are considering either the Zoo or the the Tropicarium, do yourself a favor and skip the Zoo and visit the Tropicarium. You wont be disappointed.
