Hope u like waiting
Sep 2020 • Couples
Don’t go here during corona. Due to the limited amount of people allowed per sauna, you have to wait in line before entering any. Relaxing... not. Staff was not understanding, and no compensation was made, we left after 40min, since we didn’t come to stand and wait.

A self-service restaurants like you'd expect on the highway? Seriously??
Dec 2019 • Friends
I've always enjoyed coming here but now I won't go again since our only dinner option was a self- service restaurant like you'd expect on the highway. Waiting in line with your plate to get a pizza, grab a fork and knife and sit at a table with nothing on it... no table cloth, no candle, no plant or even salt and pepper. Getting a small plastic bottle of wine and stuffing the whole thing down under bright white led lights. That is not the wellness experience!

Pleasant sauna
Feb 2019 • Solo
This is a huge sauna with a lot of different spas and warm and cold water places. This year the prices of the food is higher than last year. The sauna's are clean. Nice place to be.

Very disappointed, least relaxing sauna ever!

SPA: Nice spa music in the reception but nowhere else in the Spa. One locker between two people (apparently they were two person lockers but they are the same size as one person lockers everywhere else I have been). The rozensauna/muzieksauna was supposed to have relaxing music but instead seemed to be playing pop music (Adele/Skyfall, Phil Collins etc.) not exactly soothing and relaxing. Sandelhout sauna was very bright - could do with softer lighting. Northern Lights sauna could do with some maintenance - light effect was spoiled by the fact that in some areas of the ceiling, the bulbs could be seen and at one point it looked like someone was playing a computer game as a bright green dot kept appearing, moving a bit then disappearing. Relax area was awful, no beds only (very tatty) leather sofas with a few relaxer chairs, also the relax room was open plan and included a cut-through to the restaurant so was actually very noisy. Other clients ignored the spa rules e.g. talking loudly in the Saunas and the Relax area. Did not see any staff around any of the Sauna facilities so there was no one to actually complain to or even help if you were unsure where to go.
FOOD: Lunch and drinks were quite expensive 13.50 euro for a Carpaccio or Grilled Vegetable Salad, over 4 euro for a mint tea with honey (you pay extra for the honey). Evening buffet was much better value at 19.95, at as much as you like - healthy options like salad, salmon, mackerel and some not so healthy but very delicious desserts.
LOCATION: Beautiful setting, imagine this is very nice in warm weather but were told by other guests that it is then so busy that they have to queue for the Saunas.

When asked at the end of our visit if everything was ok, we shared the above and were told that they would make a note of our comments but nothing was written down so expect that this information will not be shared back to the management. Suggest that they also need to train and empower their staff so that they don't just give out empty platitudes but that there is actually visible/active sauna staff and a process for dealing with disappointed or unhappy customers.

Would not go back!

We had a great stay...only the prices for the drinks and food are a bit high. Maybe they can change that. The zwaluwhoeve is clean and nice!

Spa on a beautiful autumn day
Oct 2018 • Friends
Made a reservation online via the Zwaluwhoeve website. We don't have a bathrobe at home, so we decided to rent it together with the towels and slippers. Pretty expensive for the price of 20 euro. The bathrobe was too big and very heavy and especially when becoming wet.

We had a classic massage 25 min. No idea if this was really 25 min, because there is no clock around, but it felt shorter. We also had a hammam, a bit different with the one in Morocco for example. At Zwaluwhoeve they scrub the back of your legs and back and not the front or arms. Anyway the massage and the hammam were both good.

We had a beautiful autumn day with 23 degrees, blue sky and sunny weather. It was busy, but doable. We did a couple of sauna's and most of them had places to sit down. Only downside are the people who are chatting together. I wouldn't mind if people were whispering, but with so many people inside and all talking, that's not relaxing at all..

The sauna pouring session with other people was too busy. They should do more sessions or smaller groups.

Lots of choices for food and drinks, but pretty expensive. Bring an empty bottle for water. You can get cold water at the toilets. Food and drinks you pay at the end of your day at the reception with your locker key.

Facilities were clean the time we were there. I saw a cleaning lady several times. The dressing rooms are not private (where the lockers are) there are some areas to dress in private, but were always occupied. Showers had soap, shampoo etc. but for the amount of people inside not enough showers. Water not strong enough for washing your hair.

The map we got at the reception was difficult to read at first side, but while walking around the area, you'll find your way yourself.

Advice: Bring your own bathrobe, towels and slippers (quality is not that good), bring a bottle for your water.

Zwaluwhoeve in Hierden is a nice Spa. Would be much better if they don't let too many people inside. This would be better to relax.

So many better resorts to go to
Sep 2018
Unfortunately all is just a bit “so-so” here.
Too crowded with some saunas and pools busier than the tram in Amsterdam city centre, too much of a maze, too many flies as a result of the restaurant staff not clearing tables from plates and glasses, the lavender sauna could actually use a bit of a lavender smell, the cold pools could be cleared of floating hairs and too many saunas that didn’t reach the temperature that was advised outside on the sign..
We were hoping for a better experience..

Amazing day - felt like being on holiday
Jun 2018 • Couples
We came here for some rest and relaxation and we got that completely. I had never been here before, but my husband had. The changing rooms are clean and very modern and there are plenty of saunas to choose from with different temperatures. There are also spas, herb baths, and a sea salt bath. There are also more unique saunas with lavender smell, rose smell (with music) and mini cabins with cinnamon, thyme and alpine scents. It's difficult to know where to start!

We had lunch - it seemed pricey at first for an uitsmijter, tuna roll and a portion of tortilla chips, but all were big portions, so this matched the price we paid.

We are sure we will be back here again soon for some more rest and relaxation

Do not come here
May 2018 • Friends
My visit in this place was a nightmare. The manager allows male costumers to sexually harass women.
I advise to every woman to NOT come here. There is no protection at all.
