An excellent place to visit!

Easy access, spacious and with a lot to see and explore! The history, the items displayed are just fascinating, transporting us to another era. Kids will love every second! The restoration job of the aircrafts is an art and so important to have them preserved!

Superb museum a must for WW2 aviation buffs.

I have always wanted to visit this museum, on the site of the historic Ta' Quali RAF base. Three hangars are packed with items of interest and the guides and staff are really helpful and friendly. My special thanks go to Frederick who took the time to explain to me the history of the museum and some of the artefacts on display. The highlight for me is the Hurricane retrieved from the sea and lovingly and expertly restored and the story of its history. A wonderful museum and a worthy memorial.

Went as a couple, one aviation geek and one tag along wife. Interesting selection of planes and memorabilia. They’ve done a lot with their small space. Every exhibit is linked to Malta and they’ve gone to the effort of finding out and displaying personal stories related to them all. Excellent restoration work ongoing. They’ve done a lot with a small space, and is a great price.

Worth a visit - fascinating exhibits
Jun 2021 • Friends
Pros:
3 hangars. Aircraft on display include DC-3A, Hawker Hurricane IIA, Submarine Spitfire MkIX. Model aircraft. Aviation paraphernalia. Small selection of aviation gifts available. Vending machines. Toilets.

Cons:
Information displays in laymen’s terms would be useful to give an overview of the exhibits.

Interesting Place
May 2021
Went her a few days ago. Very Nice. It's rather small. Visit won't last longer than 1 and a half hrs, depending on whether one stops to read the information notices. One can also opt to watch a short video ( Not sure how long this is) . The video starts at different allocated time slots. Kids were allowed to go in a plane cockpit. Located in a very nice area. Close by you will come across: picnic area, kids play areas, petting farm and lots of space for running and playing with the kids. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants in close proximity. There is a small tuck shop at the aviation Museum with snack machines and tables.

I would recommend this place esp. is one is interested in planes or the war. Kids might find it interesting too.

Great museum
Mar 2020 • Solo
OK I am into all things Spitfire and Hurricane so I may be biased. Not massive but 3 hangers of planes and exhibits 2 Navey jet fighters Vixen and Sea Hawk along with Fiat fighter from the 60s. The WW2 hanger has a DC3 but the show stoppers are a Spitfire and Hurricane which were both restored as good as new from wrecks. The Hurricane was in 40 m of sea water. 7 euros to get in whi h goes on the upkeep of the aircraft. Not well sign posted but next to the National sports stadium. Open 9 am to 5 Mon to Sat and 9 to 1 onltin sumer on Sundays.

A Must Visit
Mar 2020 • Solo
If you know anything about the history of Malta and the siege of 41-42, then is an absolute must. Lovingly restored and donated aircraft, good and instructive displays and lovely staff. No cards, and only vending machines so come prepared. Nice little shop, three display hangars and a replica Naafi hut. Over delivered on my expectations.

Loved my visit here, truly remarkable considering its relying on charity and donations, its a pity it isn't advertised a bit better by the government, as it's a natural treasure!

Good little museum
Jan 2020
This is a good little museum. Some aircraft and an interestiung motorbike in camouflage paint, a few uniforms etc. Not extensive by any means which is sad due to the aviation history from WW2 which could be shown.

The 'cafe' is just a hut with tables and chairs and vending machines. More could be made of this.
