This is well worth a detour to see... and you will have to detour. It is not on the main track to anywhere. But the town itself is beautiful, the mezquita holds a simple elegance of form from so many hundreds of years ago and...More

A lovely walk though a sleepy and beautiful village or you can drive up but limited parking. The walk is worth it. A serene atmosphere with views down the valleys with birds of prey floating on the updrafts. Spent some time here just taking it...More

Definitely worth a visit! In addition to vestiges of Roman occupation, the monument testifies of its use as a church under the Visigoth period. In the IX-Xth c., under the reign of And Al Rahman III, it becomes a mosque. It is worth noting that...More

very interesting site with the 9th-10th century interior still preserved as a mosque with a similar pattern to the Great Mosque of Cordoba.

Must go place, not too far to walk too nestled in Almonster village. An amazing structure built on the crest of a hill which has a fabulous outlook over this lovely region of Spain.
