In July, strawberries get ripen in Finland and the family owned garden gives the opportunity to pick strawberry by own hand. In addition, eating strawberry during picking is free of charge. Minimum payment is 5 euro per person if anyone buy less than 5 euro fruits/ vegetables. Strawberry price: 5.9eur/kg if you pick by yourself. You can collect green peas, raspberry, potato, fresh onion etc too. The authority allows visitor only by pre appointment. Better to make a call to confirm an appointment to visit on desired time and date. On weekdays, they allow upto 6 pm to pick up berries. Yrjölän Marjatila is one of the most expensive berry picking places i've been to but every year i seem to go there again. Strawberrys, rasberrys, black currants etc. are better than anywhere else. The best what you can pick your self there is corn in late august. I have never eaten so good corn as they grow!!! Just oil and aromat salt on and grill it. Sweet sweet seeet!!! It's a nice place also to just go for a coffee. They have nice icecream they make their own. You can buy other local products also there like, honey, sausages, sheep furs, berry sodas etc. Many people go there with motorbikes because it's located by a road "Maisematie" with beatifull views. They also have some animals like sheeps, chickens and goats to see and feed. Kids like them. …
