- ronda p82 contributionsGreat pub with old world charmLove this pub! Great atmosphere with old world charm. Live music and great food. I had the chicken and chips husband had the Irish stew. The stew was so good wish I had ordered it.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 August 2024
- alee81166 contributionsDelicious foodFind a table, order at the bar. This is a nice straight forward place. The staff were really helpful and checked with the chef about the labelling of the vegetable curry as it was labelled as having dairy in it- it didn't! This was not the usual dhal/ sweet potato and chick pea curry I'd eaten pretty much everywhere else, it was a Chinese style curry and was served with rice and chips. My husband had the beef and Guinness stew and we both enjoyed our meals. We recommend eating here.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 August 2024
- JanChattanooga, Tennessee28 contributionsBest meal I’ve had in Ireland (on day 8)We stopped in for lunch. This place was hopping! The food (BLT and chicken fingers) was hot, fresh, and tasted delicious. Both came with a good salad and great fries. Everyone around us (stew, soup, fish and chips) was loving it too. Order at bar but quick friendly service. Only negative was no tap water. May go back for dinner!Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 September 2024
- Roxanne MMountain View, Arkansas242 contributionsJust GoWow! Some of the best food we’ve had in Ireland in over a week; “southern fried chicken sandwich “ made this Southern Mama’s mouth water! We ate here twice. Their system is perfect. The atmosphere is just what you want from an Irish pub.Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 18 September 2024

Dinner here was meh, at best. The servers were slow, forgot one drink order outright, and were so delayed in attending to us at all that we opted to find another pub (Fitzpatrick's, a great choice) to finish the night at. The bar manager was helpful and friendly, but the guy can't do everything. The food was decent, but not outstanding. The ambience was non-existent unless you enjoy watching a guy with an extensionladder and a pitcher of water going up to the second story to do some cleaning through the open door to the street. For a bar so well reviewed and with so much history I was very disappointed. This is what it looks like when an institution stops trying.

I've been here before and the food was tasty so we stopped off for a bite to eat. Covid 19 restrictions in place were of high standard. Everyone wearing masks. Places being santised and tables all spaced out.
Food was delicious when we eventually got it. We were waiting a while but thought that it was just because they were busy, but then we noticed the tables around us that ordered after us were getting their food. Our waitress never came over to check on us at all. We had to remind her that we had ordered drinks. As that waitress never came back to us we asked another waitress about the food. She went to check and the order was never put in. She said that there was an issue with the tills and the kitchen never received our order.
We waited another while but were getting impatient, as all we ordered was a chowder and a toastie. It shouldn't take that long.
The original girl that was looking after us should of had been more attentive. It is her job to look after certain tables. She should have noticed that we hadn't our drinks or our food hadn't arrived. No one asked us if we needed anything before, during or after food. We ended up going to the bar to pay as we were waiting too long for service again.

Everything was awesome… We visited twice… One night for appetizers and drinks as well as Irish music!! Absolutely outstanding...Adrian the flute player suggested it as we met him at the Doolin ferry. We were not disappointed! The next night for an awesome dinner for 4... the food was piping hot, delicious and portions were perfect. Well worth the time and money!!

Beautiful village on the wild Irish coast. This “pub” is not really a pub but more of a glorified fast food restaurant. You can have a decent bite to eat there, but don't expect too much. Not very friendly service, but nice and fast and not expensive. The chairs are incredibly uncomfortable, so if you go with a group, make sure you sit on the bench first. Excellent parking for cars and larger vehicles such as campers.

Had a lovely meal in a busy O'Connors last weekend. Arrived a few mins early so had a drink outside while we waited. The bar and waiting staff are really friendly and helpful, was a lovely few hours out - and the food was gorgeous - a big bowl of mussels, crab claws to share, chowder, chips and pints. Sure what more would you want!

Great welcome from Patrick O' Connor and Mary Shannon one blustery September Saturday morning when I wanted a takeaway coffee as I was not able to stay, and it was a fab latte and a great start to my day. I was hoping to get back to O' Connors for a lunch or dinner over the next few days of my stay but Monday landed and still no visit to O' Connors so as it was the leaving cert results day for my daughter and we were on the phone a lot, and online to all the family, So we decided to order a takeaway lunch from O' Connors and celebrate at the cottage where we were staying. It was a great decision. We ordered over the phone from Danny and were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Sure enough I picked it up and it was a great set up. Very well presented in great takeaway foil containers and fantastic value. We had ordered the Chicken wings, The Fish and chips and the Chicken in whiskey and mushroom sauce, all delicious and all served with salad and veg. It was a glorious meal and we completely loved it. Can't wait to get back soon and enjoy the wonderful food and people of O' Connors again.

I visited in June and it was quite busy but there is plenty of parking just beyond the pub on the Left side of the road, limited spaces directly outside but had no problem finding a space, the music starts at around 9pm and it does get busy then

Hi. Planning to visit Doolin in April. Just wondering if anyone knew if Doolin would be quiet in April. I had a cousin who visited in March and she said it was very quiet. Any insight would be helpful! Thank you!
Written 19 February 2015
Probably in April you would have more locals and fewer visitors which in my opinion would be a great thing. After all, when do we visit places like Doolin ? You will love it . Have a pint for me !!!
