This is a lovely place to go for the kids to wear off some steam. Plenty of room for running around, kicking a football and generally have fun as a family. Picninc areas sign posted, but people generally park their baskets where they like. In previous visits I have been in the cafe which I found costly and the queues... More

Great place, lots to do for children, plenty of space to explore and relax! Horses to stroke, nice reasonably priced food and drink, cheap parking! Would Definitely return.

I really enjoyed my visit to the castle because there is lots to see and big open fields to play on for football. The only downside is the toilets arn't as clean as it could be.

What a lovely place to walk, take the family and see a bit of history. There are plenty of well marked and maintained routes with loads of features for the kids to enjoy, and tire themselves out. The are lakes, play areas, grassed seating areas and beautiful gardens to admire. The parking is cheap with clean public toilets and plenty... More

So strictly speaking it's in a control zone EMA CTZ1 to be precise. But to be fair the shots attached were taken before I knew this. Anyway, get out there have some fun with the family and go to the festivals they put on here during the year 💕💖💕

We are fairly local but my partner took me to see the castle for the first time. I wasn't expecting much but on arrival I was pleasantly suprised. The views were stunning! I would highly recommend searching for the giant log/tree stump on the hill which has a perfect view of the castle and the lake. It is slightly off... More

The staff in the cafe today went above and beyond for myself and my friend today, helping us out with a query about a vintage tea pot! Many thanks to them and for serving lovely hot food on such a wet and cold day. We always have an excellent time at Elvaston Castle. Lovely walks, plenty of space for children... More

I love Elvaston castle. We live nearby so it's convenient and there's lots of different routes and things to see. Toilets are available and there's a shop on site too. The 3 stars however is for the cafe. This place is ALWAYS busy, they should be able to anticipate they're going to be busy and be able to be prepared... More
