    Knowledgeable &Entertaining Guide
We went here as part of a tour group. The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. He started the tour in front of the house overlooking the site of the battle and moved into the house. The house includes some info graphics on the battle Whig made the whole battle easier to understand. There was also a short video. There is a tea room attached and a lovely walled garden to walk through.

    Very Interesting Museum
I have been to Oldbridge several times over the years but was delighted to come back for the first time in a long while recently when showing visitors to rhe country around. Lovely gardens and the museum itself, though small, is very interesting. The laser re-enaction of the Battle of the Boyne is excellent. The video is the auditorium out the back is brilliant, make sure not to miss that. The gardens behind the house are lovely, make sure to leave plenty of time for a wander through after your tour and film.

Battlefield medicine demo and walk, fab!!!
Margaret did the Field Medicine demo as part of heritage week. From plant remedies to surgical instruments used on the battlefields, and a surprising walk behind where we usually get to go with laid out out info at medicinal plants. We were aged 8 to 69years old, so educational and entertaining

Well worth visiting, both for the story of the battle but also for the gardens
This place is well worth visiting, both for the story of the battle but also for the gardens. The presentation the Battle is done excellently - clear and with good use of electronics and film. It's a complicated story but this presentation really succeeds in explaining it, even bringing the consequences up to the modern era. We did not expect to find such wonderful gardens at the same time. The walled garden is by far the largest we have ever seen - anywhere. It's beautifully kept but is not 'over the top' at all. A full and fascinating morning, and incredible value for money - we paid 4 Euro each as Over 60s.

I went as part of a small group of friends visiting the area .Being Irish I was aware of the importance this Battle played in shaping our history .Although the exhibition is mainly self guided,Catherine our OPW guide was on hand to explain and answer our many various questions. She was an excellent host in navigating this site and personally I learned so much. The walled gardens are a wonderful addition to the house….fantastic work by the OPW in preserving this house and grounds for the nation……….I’ll be back.

Very dog unfriendly. We walked out from drogheda. A beautiful walk. Had to sit outdoors on the terrace with our 2 well behaved dog and as soon as we finished our lunch a security guard asked us to take the dogs off the terrace. There were only 3 customers inside the cafe. Won't be going back. They are loosing out on a large dog walking market.

The site is 15 minutes from Newgrange and worth the visit. Good, informative displays bring the battle to life to even the uninitiated.

We visited the Battle of the Boyne Centre having low expectations for a history lesson. How wrong we were! This small centre is excellent value for money - it paints an interesting picture of the events leading to the battle, the event itself and the aftermath, using different media to do so. You can then walk one of the well marked paths to visit the exact areas described, and imagine how the battle panned out. It stayed with us for days - wherever we were during our stay in the Boyne Valley we imagined what it was like for troops and horses crossing the river only yards from our cottage, seeing the enemy on the hill opposite, fighting on the plains nearby. This small museum left a big impact!
It has to be said also that it has a delightful garden to wander peacefully in and an excellent cafe which we returned to quite a few times for a light lunch or coffee and cake. Thoroughly recommended. All the staff were delightful too.

I thought the use of lights on a map to explain how the battle played out was really helpful - a simple idea but very effective. The signage outside could have been a bit better - I ended up wandering into an area of no public access (as did several people) as it wasn't very clear.

We have gone here for years as a family & really enjoy the walks & beautiful gardens. However, our last 2 visits have been tarnished by rude & unmannerly staff in your tea rooms. They give the impression they really dislike their job & appear annoyed that people are actually ordering food and drink. You really need to address hospitality with your staff & how to provide basic customer service
