Great visitor's centre if you wish to see what transpired in 1690. It is spread a vast area and museum in the large house along with aiou short video. A lot of the picnic tables have disappeared. Maybe because of the virus. There is great walks around the centre and the general public use it for jogging, walking their dogs etc. Must see if you are in the area

Despite some restrictions as a result of Covid 19 this centre is well worth a vist for anyone who is interested in Irish history and more especially the Williamite and Jacobite Wars of the 1690s. The quality of the display is first class, and the final audio-visual presentation which takes place in a 50 seat, extremely comfortable theatre, is outstanding. As is the weapons display in the yard. The estate itself is breathtaking and obviously a favourite place for locals taking a walk. The walled-garden is beautifully kept.

Went here this morning and can't believe the rudeness of the staff. To be honest all the employees looked miserable. Manager could do with ditching her ineffective visor and wear a mask like the rest of her staff. Perhaps the OPW should retender for a company to run the cafe who want customers.

During the Covid-19 outbreak, the museum is still open but a lot of it is closed off. The museum is free to go into because of this so I guess it’s reasonable enough. The small theatre was incredibly spaced out and had only about 8 out 80 available, which I found was a bit stupid. Luckily we brought our own food because the cafe had ridiculous prices. The museum and theatre were good enough for what they were worth. Sadly, the gift shop was closed which I found was a bit silly but whatever. Also, I think there were way too little attractions out near the battlefield itself. So while there’s definitely room for improvement, you should book the museum for free while you still can. Just don’t keep your expectations too high.

The Oldbridge Estate is absolutely beautiful, a gorgeous place for a walk, even on a windy day. But it is badly served by the Brambles Cafe and so were we. Aside from the unfriendly service, the prices were inflated and the sandwiches just awful. It's hard to get a chicken and stuffing sandwich wrong but they managed it and charged us €5.80 for the result. Social-distancing restrictions were in place but Covid-19 surface cleaning seemed lackadaisical. I don't know how often the tender for this comes up but the OPW can and should do better. Oldbridge deserves a cafe worthy of the high standard of the rest of the estate.
