Really enjoyable afternoon spent here. We really enjoyed the nature reserve, spent a lot of time in the hide watching the birds on the lake. Popped in to the Start Bay Inn for a coffee and compared our photos while enjoying the sea air.

Very moving to visit Slapton Sands - which was used by military in WW2 to practice D Day landings due to similarity to Omaha Beach. Lovely walks too.

Nice pebble stone beach was warm enough end of September to go for a swim, a real treat!! Very quiet and lots of parking up and down

Yes there is sand but the beach is mostly shingle. in answer to your question yes you would be able to build sandcastles.

The tank is an open display, it is situated on the car park at the far end of Slapton Sands

The tank was open air so should be able to visit anytime
