First off, I created this page because I found it really hard to get any info on this racecourse before we went. I really enjoy going to the races and particularly when I am on Holiday. However, it can sometimes be a little daunting in a foreign country. This is a small racecourse running flat races from short sprints (250m) up to longer races over a mile or so. The facilities are basic and we did not need to pay to get in. Toilets were clean, it was easy to get about and if you have been to the races before it is pretty self explanatory. There is a parade ring and all of the betting is parimutuel (tote style). You will need to bet in Spanish so take a dictionary or learn the numbers before you go! There are some small catering stalls and a cafe. We did not eat but just bought some beers whilst we were there. Getting a cab was not too difficult and the staff/police were helpful, but again very limited English, so google translate really helps! Our hotel said it was not a safest of areas so best to get a cab in and out. Overall, if you want to go to a small course whilst you are away, this place is totally fine, basic, but fine.
