This was a very interesting experience. The staff were very passionate about the history of Westport. A very good spot for those who love history and learning about old Irish antiques and documents. Its right beside the harbour where you go on cruises. Pop in for a gander, you may as well!

    Don't miss this
Don't miss this if you are visiting Westport. It's only €5 to enter and the very friendly staff will take some time to explain the history of Westport and of the interesting story of Grace O'Malley by the model of the town. Then you have free time to explore the numerous artifacts. To keep children amused, they have ten unusual objects need to be located and then you need to guess what they are. It's only a small place but it's so well done. Five stars.

Eamonn Corcoran was a super guide to the history of the local area; made it all very engaging and accessible, took our questions and answered them all. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience, the antique objects and 3D map of the old Westport town were excellent. Historian was extremely knowledgeable and was very attentive and passionate about Westport's history. Overall very good experience, worth popping in.

Visited recently with my wife. It's a little out of the way, but worth it. Definitely drop in if you get the chance, the explanation of the history of the town was fascinating, and there are lots of artifacts of interest!

Stumbled across this attraction while walking to the sea safari trip. Popped in and was the best decision i made. Was told by the centers guide ( sorry forgot his name) to wait a few minutes and he will give us a talk on the history of Westport. He was so knowledgeable and so passionate and witty, drew me into the history of Westport. This talk was worth the entrance fee alone. The centre is full of interesting artifacts of irish and local history. Loved my time there.

Absolutely brilliant little place full of fantastic artefacts and local history. Very knowledgeable guide and even more knowledgable visitors who accompanied our tour (they were the first ever to complete the “guess what” competition! 😲😁👏)

Thank you 🙏

Before we walked through the door we could hear laughter from inside. As we entered with our teenage children a gentleman was holding court around a model of Westport town. Luckily for us he had only just started. We were captivated by his wit, charm and knowledge of the history of the town of Westport and Granuaile. The museum is small but very interesting. The gentleman ( we later found out his name was Eamon) enticed us to enter a "Guess What Quiz" with the promise and a twinkle in his eye that we maybe lucky enough to win the Million Euro prize. I'm so happy we came across the Clewbay Heritage Centre, it was so worth the visit. Even our teenagers were impressed....that says a lot. Thank you Eamon for making it so enjoyable.
